When you join an Epic Bg (epseically Ashran), please have Greater Heal on, and USE IT!
As a Blood DK, i can get more than 2mil HP in Ashran, that means that you can do 1,3m+ Greater Heals! Easy win!

GHeal works best in certain arena compositions. If the Priest is skilled enough and gets some help from his friends, he can cast gheals regularly.
In BGs, priests are usually contributing to group healing, so talents which helps with aoe healing are more popular and gives you better results overall.
Also, utility and raid burst healing a discipline Priest offers are usually considered hard to pass.
