Question Covenant abilities and class fantasy/uniqueness

Covenant abilities, conduits allow great customisation of your character.
You can, for example, have "teleporting paladin" if you go Night Fae.
Or choose endurance slots for mage/rogue and have quite "tanky" class.

I am just wondering, what is your opinion?

Is that flexibility good for the game and will make it more interesting or will it reduce class uniqueness a bit?

My opinion is that there are multiple other threads discussing this, and you should have posted in one of those instead of starting YET ANOTHER thread on the exact same topic.

It takes some extreme mental gymnastics to think of yourself as teleporting paladin (I guess some kind of arcane warrior/battle mage?) or tank-mage because of that.

Alot of those abilities feel rather alien and disrupting to most of the fantasy of the classes I play. Night Fae blink really only works for druids, shaman and mages fantasy wise for example. Vampire abilities work if you want to play your character as a vampire, not if you are a holy warrior. Calling a steward really doesn't do anything like that.. even the class ability is hit and miss theme wise. Kyrian DK doesn't make your a spirit knight (something people from asian games migth like), a single ability isn't enough for that, it just gives you a slow with minimally different visuals.

Some classes and abilities obviously are perfect matches, but those are rather rare tbh; obviously, 4 covents don't cover the theme of 12 classes.
You are welcome, Metzen. I hope you won't fuck up my underground expansion idea.

    1 - they are cool
2 - flexibility is cool too, but there's a group of players who force themselves into "meta" builds - for those players, flexibility doesn't mean shit since they simply copy the build from the internet. It's like designing all those Classic wow talent trees but instead you have a bunch of players ignoring all of it and simply punching points into whatever the guide told them.

Alas, the game isn't made specifically for those players, so it's all good.
