So they added a pvp instant shard spended :o

    From beta build 35854.

Rapid Contagion: instant, 3 shards cost, 15 secs cooldown

For the next 15 secs, all your periodic effects deal 30% more damage.

To my immense surprise, its a nice step. Can take it vs melee cleaves or just any comp which is likely to interrupt spam you, and finally be able to use shards in arena after a year of BfA.

It seems weaker then Malefic Grasp, but that's excellent since it keeps the incentive to find opportunities to cast and makes it an intelligent choice moment.

Good progress blizz, color me surprised.

Only prob atm is that it's dispellable which hurts it vs several comps. Losing 3 shards in one dispel is a pretty big downside.

oh its dispellable? thats pretty bull, definitely shouldn't be. If they'll fix that (and not in...you know...next expac like always...) it has potential. I prefer something with less cd so the decision making is more constant but its not bad, not bad at all.

Dispels have been an issue for aff since they made UA's backlash effect completely trivial for healers.

There's simply no downside to a degree that it overrides removing 4+ warlock globals plus their spender damage capacity. The healer will dispel on cd, and this is made even worse in battlegrounds where multiple healers completely removes any semblance of danger the silence might have posed.

The UA backlash damage should be applied to the target being dispelled, reduce incoming healing by X% for Y seconds, and keep the silence on the healer to be of any real utility.

Its not something you apply on someone, it is a buff ion yourself it effects all your dots, not just those on your target

So no worry of dispell, be worried of purge, which well, most people see aff lock and are distracted dispelling dots, to try and purge this.

It was dispellable (magic buff) when they first added it. This build it's no longer dispellable, but the cd went from 15s to 30s, so you can only keep it up 1/2 the time.

Fair trade tbh. Dark soul being dispellable is also a huge pain atm.

Meh, it shouldn't be a trade. Its an important rotational cd when unabls to cast, costing 3 shards no less, so obv it shouldn't be dispellable. What it should be is somewhat weaker then chain casting malefics, so that you'd prefer casting if you can.

At 30 secs the cd is too long and vs any half decent team that knows to focus lock, you'd be sitting on 5 shards again just like bfa.

Keep it not dispellable, revert it to 15 sec cd (can reduce duration to 10 secs to not have full uptime).

I'm unaware of melee mobility on beta but assuming not much changed, curse of exhaustion and circle won't be enough to let you cast malefics much. We need this at a lower cd to not sit on full shards, and we need to not sit on full shards otherwise regular instant dots don't do much.

Just adding on the off chance blizz will ever read this. At 15 secs it gives you a choice, weaker but instant spender vs finding times to cast strong but interruptable spender. At 30 secs you'd be sitting on 5 shards cuzz you can't spend fast enough vs interrupting team, so you'd use it on cd with no thought, just to avoid being shard capped.

Revert it to 15 secs blizz, it can be a beautiful design.
