Who cares about that crap, they test fight mechanically and even with all these sockets you're not exactly that much more powerful than what we will be anyway first tier in the end.

Also helps.when you are overgeared to see what might happen if a mechanic could be skipped. This is important too. Remember what happened on NZoth?

Just a reminder. Killing a boss in the test server doesn't give you any points in the world first race.
Public Raid Tests are not about number tuning but whether mechanics work.
The ilvl aura is on the weaker site anyway

People are taking the logs seriously even though people are literally cheating and using gear that you'll NEVER be able to use on live. This is a huge issue.
"I don't want to do half the damage of other specs"
I think there is some confusion here... the tests are not for tuning purposes but rather to ensure the encounter functions and doing unexpected things like for example healing adds in a hallway to evade bug mobs isn't a thing.
Damage and healing numbers don't actually matter it's to see if the boss mechanics themselves work over hundreds of tries
Only if you want to get banned during raid testing.
Re-read OP. Turns out not sleeping does affect reading comprehension.
The tests aren't necessarily to test damage, it's to test game boss mechanics. What players are doing isn't cheating any more than wearing MoP cloak in Timewalking is cheating.
Regarding the veracity of the parses, the problem is that overall they're roughly inline with what was seen in raid testing by mythic raid teams. Covenant abilities are doing the majority of the damage for some specs, some specs are doing half the damage of others, etc. That said, using TBC items with no secondary stats but gem slots, which allows players to determine which secondaries they want in order to work within the new diminishing return breakpoints, won't account for deltas of almost 100%, and to act as such would be horribly disingenuous. The fact is that there are horrific balancing problems in Shadowlands at the moment, and this is why you regularly see such large balance swings on some covenant abilities (such as Rogue's Bonespike covenant ability being nerfed to doing roughly 1/6th the damage), and it should be acknowledged and understood instead of taking every opportunity to try and act like everything is fine.

Sylvanas didn't even win the popular vote, she was elected by an indirect election of representatives. #NotMyWarchief
Thing is, numbers and mechanics actually do change a lot in testing, so many raiding testers actually are there to, y'know, test it. It would be entirely meaningless to "get an edge" if the entire fight changes because the mechanics are broken. And, most hardcore raiders know this when testing.
But, cute attitude! I'm sure it works out real well for you.
3 hints to surviving MMO-C forums:
1.) If you have an opinion, someone will say that it is wrong
2.) If you have a source, there will be people who refuse to believe it
3.) If you use logic, it will be largely ignored
btw: Spires of Arak = Arakkoa.
I think its important to note that blizzard doesnt do raid testing for the player's sake. Its for blizzard to know the bosses are functioning properly, abilities are doing intended damage and interacting properly with one another. Allowing the testers access to overpowered gear options will allow more tests to reach the later phases on the boss. These OP scaled gear options also help overcome any overtuned boss mechanics that otherwise might not be working as intended. There will be plenty of grps testing every boss with limited to no old scaled gear inflating the success of the raid, so its not like blizz is only getting inflated data.
So these "cheaters" are really helping blizzard release a more balanced and functional raid. Its actually super beneficial for both us(the players) and blizzard to have the system functioning like this.
