The only complaint I have is that Darkmaul Citadel is boring. It was flaunted as a mini-dungeon, but it's just two sections of Highmaul really. I half expected to see Nagrand from the terrace. Just gave off lazy vibes, but then again, I am not a new player.
Well it is an introductory dungeon, familiarizing new players with the concepts of group play with tanks, healers and the lfg-tool. it using highmaul doesn't bother me more than the cave being reused from nazmir, or the harpy and quillboar stuff being reused.

I'm not sure its really something a vet can look at and tell you how good it does its job or not, we know everything.

The job of a tutorial is to get you in and get you started, which it does. Its not there to teach you every facet of the game

So you think that the game should hold the wittle pwayers hands? Screw that.....this game started out with ZERO tutorials, it was GOOD LUCK HAVE FUN!!!! That is what made it better and made it thrive, the fact that you werent handed shit and you had to work for it and figure out how to do something.

i know its this is a troll, but, chromie leveling isnt even available to new players, new players get thrown into BfA after they finish exiles reach

I was blown away by Exile's Reach. It's absolutely stunning the level of detail and polish this game has now.

If you follow the quests all the way through the city tour you are taken to pick your specialization.

It is a great starting experience for new players. It has some fun things for returning players as they have some class specific quests/interactions.

The only thing I didn't like about new zone is that it doesn't teach you about an interrupt mechanic, other than that it is good.

Then stick with Classic. Retail is 15 years old in the game exists in a different climate as gaming as a whole has changed in 15 years. What worked, or was acceptable than, is often not acceptable now. There is nothing wrong with being shown stuff. Everyone goes through life getting an education in one form or another.

The necrotic green magic Bwonsamdi uses was re-used, but I'm not really that mad about the other things. I think Murlocs, quillboar and harpies are just the kinda thing you'd see in a starting zone

Also, I find the tutorial popups rather annoying, especially the 'you've found some new gear!' thing

Yeah, it needs a tutorial pop up telling you that you can disable the tutorial. As you apparently can, as some ppl pointed out. So maybe we do need tutorial after all and ppl who shit on Exile's Reach aren't as clever as they tell us they are

I think all the stuff op wants would drive away more new players than it would help them. Long drawn out hand holding tutorials are a cancer and i believe we need to return to the days of

    Starts new character
    Plops down in starting area
System: heres a sword, heres a shield, fuckin get to it
    Adventure start

For an absolute fresh start trying to look at it from as someone who's never played the game, I thought it was amazing.

Really because it did a basic walkthrough of the spells you got for the most part. Not all, but several that you use.

This isn't the point of the tutorial.

It did this to a small extent in the dungeon, but it wasn't the whole point.

This are roles you learn to play yourself. DPS is done in the tutorial because it is the most common spec.

Again, not the point of the tutorial.

If you are doing Exiles Reach then you are likely a new person. You can't access Chromie Time at all until you hit 50 and completed BFA.
If you are doing Exiles Reach and hit 50 then you very likely already know about Chromie Time and/or had the quest pop up to visit her.

Again, not the point and logs 95% of the players don't even care about. The only thing about logs they care about are parsed in damage/healing meters.

Sounds more like you just wanted to complain because it wasn't done the way you wanted. Some of the new players that I spoke to said they felt like they learned a lot from it already.

    This.
It teaches you the first 10 levels, which is basically "here's a couple new active buttons", "here's some new gear and how to equip it", and "here's how to tame a pet" type stuff.
The bare minimum mechanics for your class.
It's not there for advanced tactics; it's to help someone new who doesn't understand how to use their spellbook.
It does a good job in showing you the basics, at least in the eyes of someone who's played for nearly 15 years. /shrug

Slightly off-topic, but tangential to the "training" thing: They should expand on the Class Trials to teach people "advanced" tactics.
Things like rotational flow/sequence (how Hot Streak works, building combo points/rage, etc), interrupts, how to taunt swap, use active defensives, focus heal vs aoe heal, things like that pertaining to your class/spec in use.
The Trial fakes a 5 man with set scenarios, so just expand on that to include a Bronze/Silver/Gold of "Advanced Tactics: Dungeons and Raids" where you learn how to not stand in fire, avoid the death beam, and perform your chosen role as described above.
Then, people would have Exile's Reach for the bare starting basics and their Class Trainer to teach them advanced tactics once they hit an appropriate level when their whole kit is unlocked (today, 50).

Teaching interrupts would have been amazing along with giving them earlier. It's amazing how many people don't interrupt. Either because they don't know or because they don't find it worth the time. For those that don't know about it or its impact teaching them might help increase the amount that do it.

    Same goes for dispelling too.

Wait what? I was blown away that they could fuck up a starter experience like that.

2 minutes after you enter the "world", screen just goes black to transition to starting the storm .. seriously? 15 years later. Thrn you get a semi high quality cutscene immediately followed by a cutscene from in-game. That looked sooooo bad.

It started that way, in a different world, with a different kind of user base of people generally tech focused that were already primed for "figuring things out" when it came to video games and computers in general.

We now live in a world where almost nothing isn't digital. Where UIs and user experiences are meticulously streamlined across almost literally all avenues of life. New players, generally assumed to be younger, have never not had internet and are so used to Apps—

    >< Wait. Guys. Help me, why do trolls make me do this?

OP I know you're banned but if you're who I suspect you are you will be back before too long. so even though you're obviously trolling I will reply to you so on the slight off chance you're actually serious you can see just how wrong you are.

almost everything you listed there is utterly unnecessary for a new player to know. BG objectives? Chromie levelling system and its pros/cons?? logs??? customising action bars and interface menus?? really????

even some of the things on your list are just wrong; like self healing and potions - as you level you get pretty clear notifications when a new spell/ability is available and it prompts you to put the spell/ability on your bars. Monks get Vivify early on - and if you mouseover the spell, which most new players will do, it says it heals the target. you also get healing potions. there is also a bit about your class ability; monks for example do a bit about their class where they learn Touch of Death.

as for the group finder, you queue for a dungeon at the end of exile's reach. the premade group finder is unavailable for those below level 50, so they don't need to know that yet. you also say they don't cover tanking and healing but the class trainer explains what each spec is and then you're able to choose a spec. and yeah they don't go into the different city services however the very first objective you do when you get the "showing around Stormwind/Orgrimmar" quest is to talk to a city guard. who can point you in any direction you need to go

finally, and most importantly, you never want to overwhelm a new player just starting out in any game; especially one as big as WoW. I highly suspect you never actually played Exile's Reach and just watched a youtube video about it or read a guide.
