Ah well it's actually just the OP that rushed this and made these sceenshots I guess. I thought this was official marketing material. It shows it on whatever character you are logged in on, so it's not someone at Blizzard thinking that this would sell more of them that way (not that it looks much better on community favorite models), that makes it alot less degenerate and more misguided .

So do whales, and addicted, not use 6 month subs? It will take a lot for Blizzard to make more than they gave away. Just for examples lets say there are 500,000 subscribers using 6 month blocks. That is $10 million dollars of extra revenue they lost out on by including it in a 6 month subscription. They are not exploiting anyone.

Blizzard literally just eliminated paid appearance changes and gave that all completely for free to all players and people will still scream "cash grab!" anytime Blizzard does anything. You can't fix stupid, eh?

You don't understand, there are ZERO cool looking mounts in the game, they are all in the shop you see! And just like how you see the Yeti costume everywhere you will see this too! The helmets are still used by everyone! Ahhhh!

Look at it this way. Blizzard, as a company, needs to make a profit. Not JUST a profit, but a larger profit every quarter. Now, one way they can do that is by expanding a system of optional microtransactions. Another way is by selling out more, making a desperate attempt and increasing the game's sales and subscriptions by pandering and appealing to the common denominator. The more these alternative measures succeed, the less 'safe' the development team needs to be to secure that profit. This leads to more artistic freedom and creative control for the dev team.

They COULD make a generic MMORPG that's kinda fun for everyone, or they could make the game they want, invent crazy new systems, drastic story changes, wild things that are VERY fun but only for a few. If the cash shop brings in the money, they can make a better game for less subscribers. Separate BUSINESS Blizzard from Development Blizzard in your mind. If the Cash Shop makes Business Blizzard money, they will leave Development Blizzard alone.

After the game stopped being FUN enough they resorted to other means.
