Not true. FFXIV has a HUGE store to buy cosmetics from, all without sacrificing the quality of gear earned in-game. If WoW's "normal" gear (i.e earned via simply playing) were all super detailed and polished, then I'm certain players will have less of an issue with optional cosmetics as they do now.

Granted WoW's armor sets have gotten better and better with each expansion, but they still need some tender loving care.

The quality is subjective in of itself.

There needs to be a 100% rational no emotional reason why 1 bad 1 good. If Square enix does it and it is fine then it is the same for blizzard.

The problem consumers are not those who openly enjoy and like spending money. Those who are hooked and the problem are the ones who complain about companies, products, actions yet still consume the product. Basically blowing hot air for no other reason then to blow hot air. Because in the end you'll still spend your time playing the game or even worse discussing the game with out playing.

I don't even give a shit if they want to keep doing carrots like this to keep people subbed, but they really really need to start allowing all fun/silly items to be transmogged. It's a still policy to still have when there are already so many things that are exceptions, and shit like this and the Blizzcon Onesie are two very obvious examples.

It’s a weak comparison, a few bonuses that no one hardly knew or cared about to a bribe tied to a 6 month subscription advertised in a in game shop. Whatever, you’ll defend it regardless and I’m not going to drawn on an argument on semantics.

There is one saving grace to stuff like this, you can spot morons in game far easier.

Kind of digging this '6 month subscription' thing. It helps keep subscriptions through content drought, lures in both old and new players, and rewards those who keep their subscription ongoing. Beats just throwing it in the cash shop.

good amount of those FF14 outfits were able to get in game for free during the holiday it was with. They just put it on the store the following year if people missed out and do really want them. Only a few of the sets are for the store.
