Do you get into shortwave radio

Do you get into shortwave radio? I've been listening to it alot lately. I use an online sdr that's free to use. Though I'm probably going to get my own sdr dongle. It's interesting some of the things you pick up on them.

Nah I just use my cellphone.

If there's ever a doomsday apocalypse that knocks out ground and satellite communications that'll come in handy. You'll be able to communicate with the outside world across vast distances.

If I used a two-way radio it would kind of bother me that peeping Toms could listen in on my conversations!

Not shortwave in particular but I remember when radio was a bigger thing before digital, back when we had chart music.

My dad's cousin would enter radio competitions regularly.

Trying to connect to people and stations around the globe.

Never understood the point of it. But that's all the touchpoints I had regarding radio

ham radios are still very popular. We need more people to get licensed.

Doing that now with the internet, has less of a point than an 8 track cassette.
