don't know the source, but it says "FANFICTION" - so maybe a poll on a FF site regarding Warcraft fanfiction characters. Which would explain how more recent characters score so high on the list and why Anduin and Sylv are so high - because the fanfiction community is not your typical WoW community* and because they tend to interpret the characters more freely.

Alleria's first appearance in WoW is in 2017, and she's already in the top 17, with people who have appeared since 2004. I can't wait for the inevitable Void expansion, she'll easily become top 3 and even surpass Jaina and Sylvanas LOL!

See haters, a character doesn't need 2 decades of screentime to be popular, sometimes they just need a perfect design, badass powers, and compelling motivations. Get bent.

I mistook him for Shaw, regardless Fairwind plays a large role throughout all of BfA, meanwhile Alleria appears only sporadically. The fact that he, who has been a recurring character for the whole expansion, is only barely more popular than someone whose appearances you can count on the fingers of one hand, is quite telling.

It's based on what's currently going on. And Thrall somehow managed to do less for the story in recent years than freaking Lor'themar. Top 3 are just the 3 major players of BfA, really.

Tho I gotta agree with Jaina being high on the list, for all the bullshit in BfA her arc was pretty good.

They are all characters that are very prominent in BFA. If this poll was done during Legion, Khadgar would take Anduin's place. Thrall and Velen would be up high too. Why is there no source to this poll?

Its a pretty clear pattern here. Top 3 are the most prominent ones the last 2-3 years. Its going to affct peoples preferences.
