Sociology and mmorpgs are a very interesting topic, and WoW a good mmorpg to analyze considering it's massive playerbase.

Chances are there are already studies about it and other mmorpgs, but it's natural for the academy to push some subject beyond the edge of knowledge to get new data.

It may not be interesting for you, but the field is very interested - otherwise OP wouldn't be surveying players. Time is precious.
