Sylvanas can still get a redemption on a personal level while being punished (death or eternal torture) for her bazillion atrocities.

She's always been a character that cared about things and people on an individual level but did not care about numbers or statistics (aka the entirety of Teldrassil).

I guess the problem is that there isnt really a moment that we can point to where she definitively realizes that what she is doing is evil.
We could of course assume that she started having doubts once she actually went to the Maw and saw the souls there and realized the true extent of her sheer villainy, but it still doesnt gel with her characterization in BtS or BfA.

Remember, this is a person that killed her own people because they were not truly forsaken by finding happiness reuniting with their loved ones. She raised Derek as a slave, violating her own stated principles on the importance of free will to make him an assassin meant for killing his own family. Raised Night Elves that she herself killed to kill more of their own.

The problem is that Blizzard made her too evil in BfA. Her acts of villainy is on par with penultimate evils like Sargeras.


Maybe the WoW: What's next panel will shed some light though. One can hope I guess.

The Torghast raid seems more to me like a surgical strike, probably oriented around rescuing Anduin and less an outright attack on the Jailer and his army.

That certainly is coming, with the covenant storyline thing, but that's still getting set up.

This feels more like the other Covenant leaders saying fuck it, and straight up attacking the Jailer. This entire raid seems like a massive ploy by the Jailer in order to gain the other keys from the covenant leaders.

Ok here are some of my guesses:

We might get a Cata World revamp 2.0 (basing this on the datamined Stormwind HD textures)
New Allied races and new customization for them (since they said that they will add it for them plus I hope we get the Mogu because they mentioned them during BfA)
Either a new class or something like class halls from Legion
Remember, they added a new class every 2 expansion. Not adding one in SL means that they're planning something big, though I doubt that we will see new specs
Light as the main antagonist ( again with the 2 expansion rule, they talked about Legion and the Titans in MoP etc...)

There's no Q&A so IDK why they feel the need to rush through these.

Though I do push back on the people saying this is light for a patch reveal. Feels about right.

I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed that the covenant flying mounts aren't actual themed wings.

All the talk about listening to the community before going ahead with system changes is all well and good, but in this case it really did feel like a copout ot not have to actually show much substantial that will change in 9.1.

Guess maybe it will be in the deep dive, but otherwise it seems like we will have to wait.
