Their decision not to have N'Zoth appear again is part of N'Zoth's plan.

N'zoth is the true Jailer, he was behind everything all along!

It is ironic that the weakest of us may be the ultimate victor. C'Thun, Yogg-Saron, Y'Shaarj, and... well. Only one would remain to consume the world, that was always meant to be.

It was here in ages past that the God of the Deep lost a great battle to the God of Seven Heads. But as was so often the case even defeat ultimately worked in N'zoth's favor.

N'zoth was freed to do whatever he wanted upon the world and he died in the very next patch

But why is the hype train going away from the Dragon Isles?

N'zoth was killed in such a way to make it easy to reintroduce him though. Just have it be something with the Knaigu, or how he only wanted us to think he was dead in Ny'alotha.

If there is one character in WoW that could pull off the whole "alive all along" stick it would be N'zoth.

    You missed the point.

The first quote confirms that "it was always meant to be" that N'Zoth would consume the world. It is inevitable, it is natural that N'Zoth will succeed. "It was always meant to be", it is the destiny of Azeroth.

The second quote confirms that N'Zoth is "so often" able to make defeat "ultimately work in his favour". N'Zoth is very manipulative and every time that he seems to be "defeated", it turns out that the "defeat" ultimately benefit him in some way...

The tracks meet it at the other side. It has to go around the mountains to get there.

Do not make me remember the shitshow that 8.3 was. I thought back then, even after watching the 8.2 raid cinematic, that no, that Blizzard could not do that to one of the biggest villains, building him for years just to make him appear and dissapear in a patch. Yet, I was wrong, BUT, still I have faith in his return, as our dear Saurfang said: ''You cannot kill hope''.

The hype train is way past that, it's headed towards the new land in 10.1/10.2

Also Lightforged. High elves and Broken draenei would be perfect for first 2 Alliance allied races.

I could see a scenario where Xal'atath is the big bad of the next expansion.

You seem to have a lot more faith in Blizzard writing than anyone else here. What's more likely is they are bad at writing and wasted an Old God in a single patch when he was free to do whatever he wanted over the entire planet. The best chance of him returning is simply just waiting. Maybe eventually they will bring him back, like Illidan, and other missed opportunities.
