My examples are different yes, but both show you, how it's the community that set the bar. Wether or not that is how the devs saw it that way or had that in mind. Maybe they always intended to do Azshara in a patch and n'zoth in a patch, who knows.
I agree with the community that Azshara and N'zoth were rushed. Especially because both were discussed and speculated since the start of wow almost. They had enough going on for themselves and both Zones (Zin Áshari, walking city) would have been absolute fanservice if they were just zones we could explore and learn more about them, what we got was like 1/50 of Zin Ashari and 0 of the actual walking city. Just some phased half 2d cardbord raid that was cool looking, but really didn't fulfill expectations to a true black empire. This one is different and blizz just failed us hardcore since it was universally known by the devs that the wow community wanted the sout seas, Naga queen and N'zoth show up and be worth it for years. They are now wasted as a second return wouldn't generate the same hype.
Imo the fourth war and sylvanas should never happened the way it was pushed to us.. it ruined most of the good parts, I mean we could have been moving towards that war and find allies anyway since the alliance and horde never really got the chance to rebuild. Maybe then we would have had more time with these villains and their story. Why we needed a fourth war was never clear and recent stories about Alex changing the story at that point seems all really suspicious to me. Imagine what we could have gotten instead.
