Flying requirements out.

This is probably what we will get. Although, again, the way in which they announce the survival game is strange, makes me think that we can get a similar announcement for other games or content of current games.
But I have to say that it will be a weird way to announce 9.2 if Ybarra just tweets: ''9.2 on february 18! New expansion announcement two weeks after that!''
If we have to wait until March for an expansion reveal after today it will be tough.
Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.
Yeah, I was never expecting to be blindsided by an expansion announcement drop this week, but still... something for the existing WoW fans would be great. They need to give us a heads up beforehand so the hype can actually build. I would wager a guess that they don't know how they're going to announce it yet, given the Blizzconline cancellation.
I agree that new game announcement is so underwhelming, it surprises me it came out like that.
I want to believe they know how they will announce it, and it will probably be similar to what they did for 9.2 (which I really liked btw, especially the focus on the artists) with more solid information regarding the systems and such. So it will probably be one big presentation with a small intro speech followed by the cinematic, main features of the expansion and a deeper dive into the story with a final message telling us to stay tuned soon for more information on 10.0 and this new beginning for WoW.
Still no music in this build?
I will not reply to posts that are non-constructive or contain flaming and/or trolling.
not even gonna try to 'leak' but pretend it was, how would you pick it apart?
DRAGONMIRE BINGO2024 - 11.0 - The 10th Expansion - The 20th Anniversary of World of WarcraftFor Azeroth!
#1 Hype-Thread Shitposter - Overlord of the Hypethread

There are "Mourne fragments" that you collect from Anduin's blade, and as of right now there's only three versions for Normal/Heroic/Mythic. They're quest-related.
Maybe a class (DK, probably) getting to re-forge a Mourneblade?
...again?
I mean, the content is probably prepped - wouldn't be all that different from the usual. It's the delivery that might be vexing them. Should it be a Twitch stream? YouTube video? Through their own website? If they knew, I can only assume they would have announced the venue by now, if not only to get us all twisted up in anticipation.
Honestly if you'd just posted the Dragonmire logo on its own I'd probably say it looks plausible. Heck that name even sounds WoW-ish.
FFXIV - Maduin (Dynamis DC)
Yeah, I think if we were getting an expansion announcement we would have gotten an announcement at the beginning of the week for a reveal toward the end. That's the sort of thing they'd want people to be there for and not just drop randomly. Although it's weird to do a new game announcement this way, so anything's possible.
I'm fairly neutral about this Survival Game. I was going to say cautiously optimistic, but despite the comments last week about rebuilding trust, I can't say I'm optimistic (though I wouldn't say pessimistic either).
I love Survival Games. Well, I prefer Sandbox games, but while arguably sister genres, the terms are often used interchangeably so it's hard to say exactly what we're getting until we know gameplay details. There's two big issues with it though.
1) Small things can be make or break in either genre.
One of the reasons I prefer Sandbox over Survival is because too many games that call themselves Survival try to sell themselves on being "realsitic", by which they mean you need to eat an entire cow every six hours or you die of starvation. Also, my friends and I prefer to play them on our own servers with a small cooperative group, and while most Sandbox/Survival games accommodate for that, occasionally one comes out that refuses to give player control. Another issue is how many of these games start out positive, but the griefer crowd is so loud that they eventually start catering to them (under the naive impression they're just normal PvPers) until the game basically drops its PvE (and makes its PvP bad for anyone but the griefers).
2) I'm disappointed it's a new setting.
I totally get that veterans at Blizzard are going to itch to do something new and I'm not blaming that at all, but I feel there's so much untapped potential in their existing franchises. One of the things that's made me lose trust in modern Blizzard is how much they seem to want to do anything but what we already like about their games, and how willing they are to abandon projects like Heroes of the Storm (that became my favorite Blizzard game in its time) or Warcraft III: Reforged. When I was playing one of the Shadow of Mordor games, I couldn't help but think that a Warcraft clone of the game where you're playing Sylvanas instead (since the archery and ghost teleporting powers are perfect for her) would be amazing. I'm not saying Blizzard should literally just copy someone else's game and basically reskin it, just that I think there's clearly room and potential for their existing franchises to branch out. I pitched a Diablo Survival Horror game before as a way to expand the franchise and bring back the horror. I would have loved a Warcraft Sandbox game, and even though I'm less of a Diablo fan and not really a Starcraft fan at all, there's definitely potential for Sandbox games in either of those settings.
I know this game was obviously planned before this trust problem, so I don't mean to sound like I'm being a hypocrite by wanting them to reach out and then critiquing when they do, just that I'm not ready to feel excited yet.
Speculating about 10.0 is fun, but the actual thing is something that could still very much go either way for me.
