Dragonflight Alpha/Beta General Discussion

All the talk about logos has made me look at all of them in ways I never had before. It's been a lot of fun.

While details are placed on top starting with Wrath of the Lich King, all of the logos have the same border until Legion. .

i kinda the prefer the "same logo" with a twist, something to add on it, than entirely new ones, funny enough, when they change tht the expansions became dogshit

the frozen logo, the logo with the serpent dragons, and the iron plates, were much cooler, symbolic it was still warcraft.

I hope so, cause I hate them and I think they're just obnoxious. Whereas Infinite dragons make me go so interested and involved, Twilight dragons make me go meh...

There have been a few recent hints about the Twilights picking up steam. But yeah, like so many other things, the key context for their narrative relevance is found in sources external to the game.

I mean, I won't shame you, it's relatively decent albeit simple (especially compared to the HQ Shadowlands logo).

How’s the Empire of Dragon logo simple compared to the Shadowlands logo though? I find them both to be of very high logo-quality.

Honestly I think Blizz missed their window on the Infinite. WoD was their window to do something with them, at this point I'm honestly more indifferent to them than I even would be if they conspired a reason to bring the Twilight Flight back into the story.

Hell pair them up with Knaifu and Alleria and the Void Lords.

Hmmmmm I'm not sure. I think the Infinite Dragonflight still has plenty opportunities to shine and become relevant in the lore, I even hope they'll be the main villain one expansion!

I'd have to look at it again, but to me it didn't appear as HQ as the Shadowlands one. Perhaps it's just me though...

If google doesn't find anything first pass, you should then try Yandex, which tends to be worse at general image finding but much better at detecting cropped/flipped images or images that are extremely similar (like the same artist or the same 3DCG set).



If that fails, and you suspect that it's a crop or has been altered a little (like there's "placeholder" red X marks on a supposed cinematic picture) you can sometimes bruteforce it by painting out the edges to expand the picture or removing those alterations.

I‘m still 100% sold on the Empire of Dragons logo to be the real thing, please shame me when it turns out that I was wrong.

I'm not sure I'm 100% sold, but I'm definitely leaning towards that being legit. It ticks all the boxes.

Someone quite a few pages ago dismantled it and pointed out the circle on top is not perfectly round (on the right side) and there is some weird stuff above the letter T in 'warcraft'.

I dont think we've ever gotten a wow expansion announcement that wasn't a big stream/convention/blizzcon, so we probably wont get one without a date firmly announced. We'll get an event announced 1-3 weeks before it happens saying "Come watch us reveal the future of World of Warcraft live on YouTube!"

For comparison: Zenimax has their annual expansion announcement for Elder Scrolls Online towards the end of January (it’s always a 1 hour stream plus an additional hour of community manager / fan talk) and they always announce this stream roughly three weeks prior to the actual date (it will be this Thursday, by the way). So at least one or two weeks of a prior announcement are expected.

Well it seems everyone picked apart Dragonmire fairly quickly. Finding the source images is obviously one of the best ways to debunk something if you can manage to do it. What stood out to me instantly was it being based on the Shadowlands ad leak. It's obviously not proof of being fake, but I don't see them following the same ad format again. Every expansion usually does a bit of its own thing, and even if they did reuse this ad style, the chances of that being the thing to leak twice in a row is pretty unlikely.

That said, it looks very nice. I really like the color balance and lighting on the logo. I prefer it way more than Battle for Azeroth's, that's for sure. I would like a real expansion logo that looked like this.

Yeah, that was also my immediate "This is probably fake". Pretty unlikely to get the exact same bit of media leaked twice in a row, and also have that media designed exactly the same as last time.

Also, I just want to remind people that the Shadowlands leak was deemed fake by many before it was confirmed to be the real deal. So let's keep on debunking... but most of all, let's keep an open mind!

The thing that irks is that its fake.

I‘m sold on that logo until Blizzard reveals the real thing or the creator of the fake logo comes out and just tells us. The only thing that bothers me (a little) is the name, the logo is very good.
