Wow is fleshed out precisely because it does things like this though. Chronicle was intended to be a comprehensive lurch forward in filling in the gaps, resolving shaky points, and expanding the universe... but inevitably you're going to come up against those fillings as walls blocking potentially interesting storylines and additions. The fluidity is necessary because otherwise you're forced into such vagueness that describing the state of affairs becomes pointless, you have to dance around the details of every last little thing or chance locking that item out of potential later on.

You don't have to retroactively put a villain in something to make them interesting, but if you're adding a villain (or an entire group of characters who have existed for a very long time), you do need to retroactively explain some of what they have been doing during the existing events they would have been around for.
I don't think that necessitates how they work him into the story, though. I think there are plenty of ways of making an interesting new villain without actually tying him in to preexisting plots at all—he could simply appear, he could be something made from a loose thread (i.e. the idea of a fifth Old God eaten by the others has some background), he could be made in front of us from a character as we see them become a villain (like Garrosh was, who I honestly think is one of the best villains).

Besides, I suppose we do need more villains to be made, since there are so many who have already been around.

Turalyon is merely a means to an end...

Also nobody cares about them? It must be why the Number 1 question at all BlizzCons was "where are Alleria and Turalyon?" and it must be why Blizzard updated the loading screen tips thrice to foreshadow their return In reality Alleria and Turalyon are some of the most popular and iconic characters Blizzard ever created (Alleria even more so).

    As I said, rent-free
That's because there was a mystery around them being absent before. People seem excited about Turalyon. You are the only person I have ever seen excited about the Void Elves. Plenty of people play them, but I've rarely seen someone with your unhealthy fixation on this plot.

And just say "Void Elves". You are not an Elf in World of Warcraft. You are a human being on Earth. Write "Void Elf".

Second. They should just drop all pretenses and do level/ilvl/stat squish every expansion. The game is seasonal anyways.

I agree. Unless they change leveling in some way it would be absurd IMO to increase the level cap again, just to reset it in a few expansions.

BTW it seems that this is going to be a loooooong and boring week. Hopefully someone creates a new interesting leak.

Resetting level cap to 50 after each expansion would keep current Chromie time system working and avoid the shitshow that resulted in the level squish at the first place.

Ye, same. I don't think the hype will stay.. at all.

This. I really hope they change leveling in some way. After a few alts leveling, it starts to feel... boring. Really hoping for, even though I dont really see it happening, that with a world revamp, they change the quests. A lot of the older ones feel boring.

Eh, there is enough dragon related vocabulary to make titles with, so this isn't much of a take tbh.

Wing(s), Flight, Flame, Fire, Scale(s), Aspect(s), Brood, Breath, etc.

I really think they should come up with a permanent "borrowed power" system (yes, oxymoron, but you get what I'm saying) and allow you to make legitimate progress in that system from level 1. It's clear that they believe that only the level cap matters and leveling is a relict formality. Might as well allow you to start making endgame progress from the second you make the character.

This is a pretty map. Whoever made it did a damn good job of making it in the WoW style.

It seems to entirely be missing the tiny structures that represent places on it, however.

EDIT: I just noticed the artist signature in the bottom right. "AZAPLS"

    Hmm...
    I didn't say Major patch. There were 4 x.x.x patches between 5.4 & 6.0

It is clear to me now that there must be a Zereth for each force of the cosmos, and within them, an inner sanctum akin to the Sepulcher.
I guess I was wrong about Zereth Mortis (though I still maintain this is conclusive, while the orcale's statements were not)

But I'm still disappointed with them making a tone-deaf anti-war sentiment to the game about perpetual war.

None of which were content patches, so idk why you deem them relevant.

    *Laughs in Programming*

I pray that the First Ones anticipated such an eventuality. That they would leave measures in place to preserve their grand design.

    Unless...

Unless their design was never meant to endure.

And that... is the possibility that haunts me.
My wish that the bad guys of the next expansion are Light-Void fusions is one step closer to fruition.

It absolutely is not obviously fake. And what sloppy stuff? The logo looks absolutely fine, not super sharp, yet totally well-designed. You know what adds to this logo-leak? There didn't came a written and detailed leak with it, just the logo. Exactly the same was the case for Shadowlands. First we had the logo, then we had the marketing materials leaked. But the first thing we got was the logo.

This map is hella cool. I love fans who are so engaged in this game and create stuff like this.

    Has this been discussed yet?

Pretty much confirmation that there's 5 more Zereth's out there. Got me thinking...

The possible 10.0 collectors stuff that was datamined last week had to do with green dragons and we all know that green dragons have a connection to the Emerald Dream. We also know the ED is a dark mirror to Ardenweald. Yet, the ED is so closely tied to Azeroth, not to the entire cosmic plane of life.

If we look at the Jailer encounter, we know that ZM and Azeroth have a special bond.

SO what if the Emerald Dream is actually Zereth Vitae.

Then 10.0 has us go to the Dragon Isles, with the Green Dragonflight being the major leading force to, I guess continue this cosmic charade, and further unlock the secrets of the ED/ZV after w/e happens in 9.2.

Oh yay, they introduce a 7th cosmic force because six hasn't been enough already. They're already preparing us for the masters behind the Void lords it seems, lol.

Keep in mind that expansions tend to be largely unrelated with each other. Shadowlands for example has very little to do thematically with BFA, and BFA has very little to do thematically with Legion. Also we could very much be overstating the importance of certain hints to the point where 10.0 might have nothing to do with dragons period, and we're in something we never anticipated. The only thing I'm pretty sure of is that we're not going to be dealing with cosmic threats, and 10.0 is going to be a "reset" of sorts where we begin some new storylines, since Shadowlands was supposedly the closing chapter of the storylines lingering from WC3.
