    Given that Demon Hunters exist, i don't see the issue.

    Think about it;

    What does this class do? Are we going to make another melee class? A caster class? We have tons of those already. What makes this one special?

    What type of magic/abilities will this class have? If it has fire abilities, how does it differ from the plethora of other fire-based classes out there? Mages have an ability where a literal dragon head pops out and breathes a cone of fire.

    How does this class fit in the lore of Warcraft? Are they just adventurers who decide to join the dragons? Which flight would they join? Lore doesn't support the notion of a mortal being able to join multiple flights, so what would their core abilities be? Core abilities are abilities that are based on the class itself, not a specific spec. So, at the base level, what is this class about?

    For me, nothing about this class makes sense beyond simply trying to find a class that fits in a dragon-based expansion. There is no lore character that suits this class, and there is zero references for such a class beyond some random NPCs with the title "Talonguard". Again, the best option for a dragon class is to base it on characters like this;

    Actual dragons who disguise themselves like mortals. Examples: Kalecogos, Wrathion, Alexstraza, Chromie, Kairoz, etc.

    It's the superior option in every way.
    “I have no lack of imagination but there’s no way for that to work without being my superior concept” I’m just gonna disengage because that is proving my point especially since in one of the threads through these past leak seasons you called dragonsworn bootlickers unless they are actually dragons

    I think the difference is that Demon Hunters were a unique class first, the race customization was a bonus.

    For a dragon class, the main appeal is being a dragon. The class half of it is much harder to define as something distinct.

    Blue Dragons are almost literally just mages.
    Green Dragons essentially represent druids.
    Black Dragons are largely covered by aspects of shaman.

    Bronze Dragons are a little harder to define, and while the life giving aspects of Red Dragons have been done through fire breath rather than simply Priest spells, by the time you've narrowed it down so much, there isn't a lot to build a distinct class from.

    A dragon race that can be a mage or druid or shaman or whatever else matches the variety much better.

    Considering that they're going around begging dragons for abilities, that's exactly what I would consider them.

    Definitely not the "rule of cool" that governs many Blizzard design decisions.

    Think about it; Would you rather serve under Wrathion, or be equal to Wrathion? It's a rather easy choice.

    To you based on your idea of them begging for power which is probably the most imaginative thing you’ve said

    Do paladins beg for power from the light??

    Dude, that's literally what the Dragonsworn in the TTRPG do. They serve the dragonflights and in exchange the flights give them dragon powers. If you make them angry, they take your powers away, because they own you. You're essentially a servant/slave of a dragon.

    Again, what sounds better as a class? Being a servant of Wrathion and getting some hand-me-down abilities, or being like Wrathion and having his abilities?

    Well, they regularly spew "Light give me strength" bullshit, so it seems that yes, they beg for it.

    No they don't say that, that often this is a really weak arguement. Its not like they have to say that specifically to get the Light's power, no.

    So, there's this guy who predicted all of the WoW expansions from 7.0 onward to 13.0 and he's been right so far.
    Who?

    Well one is essentially a paladin but with dragons instead of the light and the other is a race

    You didn't answer my question; Would you rather serve a dragon, or be a dragon?

    Extend that to the wider player base; Do you think players want to be a melee class that uses "dragon (fire)" abilities, or would they rather be a ranged caster class that can shift in and out of dragon form while in combat?

    Even better; Imagine being able to customize how your dragon looks? Imagine being able to tame dragons as pets and familiars? Imagine a class that be any race in the game since it's just a disguise?

    C'mon man, the choice is easy.

    I think you could just do more with a Dragon class than a Dragon race. A Dragon class could be every race to shift into their humanoid form and they could have them transform into a dragon mid combat and do cool abilities etc. A dragon race would just be a drakonid or something with a bow or sword.

    Agreed. Also a Dragon "class" would serve both as a new race and a new class, and set Blizzard up to not have to release a new one of either for quite some time.

    Dragon should be a race and at the same time a class, a race who can just be the hero class dragon related

    Or alternatively a dragon that can transform into any playable race, as indeed someone "leaked" a good while back.
