For tradition's sake I'm rooting for 10.0 to launch in 2022. The Burning Crusade was the only expansion to launch in an odd-numbered year, and even it only missed an even-numbered year by 16 days (and the tradition hadn't started yet). I think they'd still be aiming for 2022, but the question is whether and how much the delays and other issues have affected 10.0.
My guess is (and this is just a guess) that 10.0 might be a bit back in development than the previous few expacs at this time in the year but further than people think since a SL patch was probably cut for it.
Them not announcing it yet is different than not being ready to

Yeah, at the end of the day, all we can do is speculate where WE THINK they are in terms of development based on the information we have (delays in SL patch cycle, the internal conflicts within Blizzard last year, 9.2 not even being announced yet, no Blizzcon/Blizzconline, etc.) We really don't know. I could care less if 10.0 comes out this year or next, I just want it to release "when it's ready." If they are on track for the end of this year, sweet! That would be awesome. If they're not, let them take their time. There's zero reason to rush it out (by this I mean no one in the WoW community (players) should want them to rush 10.0 out. What Blizzard does/wants is out of our control).
From the new patch notes:
I'm reminded of the "Should "competing by default" go away completely?" thread and am surprised to see something like this so quickly. This has me much more optimistic about the goals for cross-faction instances, as it seems they might really be trying to remove the "passive competition" that makes seeing other players in the open world so often a negative thing. Many skinnable, mineable, and gatherable enemies can now be skinned, mined, and gathered by all the players who engaged with the enemy and have the correct gathering skill.
Developers’ note: In order to help make “skinning” (skinning, mining, and herb gathering of enemies) a more group friendly experience, we have adjusted skinning rules. The majority of “skinnable” enemies will now following the normal tapping rules, and be skinnable by everyone who engaged with them and has the ability to skin them. Some weaker and very specific enemies can still only be skinned once, while some rare and powerful enemies will be skinnable by everyone who engages them and is capable.
They also need a bit more time on 10.0 since it has the world ravamp #pray #team
I will not reply to posts that are non-constructive or contain flaming and/or trolling.
Less rage when farming mats and probably lessen then the rage between each player.

Build: 42174
Still marked as Test
No music in this week's build, but they did add the file references TO the music so we might be seeing that next build.
They are adding the vicious frog and wolf mount. Two vicious mounts in the final tier patch indicates they plan for two pvp seasons because of how long the tier will be. Second season will probably start with 9.2.5 release.
“The Jailer sits on the cusp of ultimate victory. Unless stopped, the cosmos will succumb to his power.“
Lol cool! Jailer > Sargeras
Still nothing aboard the hype train. That's terribly long.
"If you want to play alongside High and Void elves, the Alliance is waiting for you"
I feel like part of the issue is, even though 9.1 really released June 29th,
the trailer dropped Feb 11th and basically, and a lot of what happened that wasn't in that trailer was very much expected. Jailer won, Sylvanas defeated etc. Korthia wasn't terribly story relevant.
Even the most recent cinematic with Sylvanas is only just confirming something the fanbase decided was probably true wayy back when Afterlives : Bastion came out, that her soul was shattered.
We've been wading through this narrative at a snails pace honestly, and even though all of this content has come- very little of it has really moved the bar past where it was already- it just sort of brought things up to speed with the widespread speculation.
The bar was moved way forward in Nov with the 9.2 reveal, but now we've been kind of high and dry about when to really lock that in as "canon" the same way all of the previous things have when they're finally put to Live servers.
floating adrift in "Chains of Domination" feels sickeningly meta lmao. Make this.. Eternity.. End...
