The only argument for 10.0 not being too far back in development is that they probably cut the mid patch for SL for that.
And as Ion teased he can't discuss possible future SL patches before 9.2 story concludes hints that if there will be a third patch it will probably be a bridge using 10.0 stuff.

Well we know there's going to be a 9.2.5 because that's when the cross-faction groups are coming. So yeah probably some also wrap-up/bridge story content too.

They are adding the vicious frog and wolf mount. Two vicious mounts in the final tier patch indicates they plan for two pvp seasons because of how long the tier will be. Second season will probably start with 9.2.5 release.

It's much more a case of "the shit the Jailer is fucking around with" > "Killing various world souls"

I feel like part of the issue is, even though 9.1 really released June 29th,
the trailer dropped Feb 11th and basically, and a lot of what happened that wasn't in that trailer was very much expected. Jailer won, Sylvanas defeated etc. Korthia wasn't terribly story relevant.

Even the most recent cinematic with Sylvanas is only just confirming something the fanbase decided was probably true wayy back when Afterlives : Bastion came out, that her soul was shattered.

We've been wading through this narrative at a snails pace honestly, and even though all of this content has come- very little of it has really moved the bar past where it was already- it just sort of brought things up to speed with the widespread speculation.

The bar was moved way forward in Nov with the 9.2 reveal, but now we've been kind of high and dry about when to really lock that in as "canon" the same way all of the previous things have when they're finally put to Live servers.

I hope you're right! I forgot about patch trailers entirely until you brought it up. I even went back on YouTube to search patch trailers for each patch in Legion, BFA, and SL 9.1. We better get one for 9.2!

No. That was just an exclusive cinematic they made for Sylvanas, because Sylvanas is and has always been the Writers' Pet, as if the fact that she got like 4 new models in one expansion wasn't proof enough of that.
