The biggest indication for me that the Ashes of Galakros is fake is the Warcraft: Grimoire app, which made it apparent to me that no one here knows that Destiny had its own lore thing with the same name on its site and companion app. Destiny Grimoire was apparently rather unpopular and didn't make it into Destiny 2, which has its lore in-game precisely due to all the complaints that Grimoire was unavailable in-game (also, Grimoire is no longer supported, and all the progress people had on it from D1 was lost).

I don't see WoW adopting something that was proven to be unpopular, especially considering that Destiny's lore has entries that are incomparably more esoteric and difficult to present as anything other than text than what WoW has had to offer thus far (although I admit to liking what Shadowlands has at its context in regards to concepts like fate and symmetry).

Also the fact it says the landmass which used to hold the well of eternity has been moved to this titan facility on the moon... completely removes the whole "Azshara has been sitting on the ruins of the well of eternity and drawing from its power" argument. However, that could be possible, and she was nowhere as powerful as many people (included myself) imagined her to be when she showed up in BfA... so... Hmmm.

Damn, I really hope that's the one.

Tbf, wouldnt be surprised if the whole orginial 9.2 content was scrapped, and both the cinematic from where this screenshot came, and all runoured Northrend content were cut.

The few that group up, do not do that with friends, but with those that perform. WoW is no game to play together with friends, but it is a game for min maxers and top performers, who like to dance to commands of a raid leader. Soldiers performing their captains wishes. Up to that point they have to play raids to sell runs to strangers, which pays the subs of the raid leader.

And yes, as like focusing on boosting, and really trying to pretend it is no pay 2 win, because they give gold to bribe raid leaders who abuse their group players to create token sales for blizzard.. turning a game into a market place, where the trade chat is infested with sales notices rather than requests to play together with others for fun.. i tell you, boosting turned WoW into a toxic pool of merchants who only play with others for gold.. which is just another "awful" decision.

And lets just get to another "awful" decision, as like removing all item character progression from content that is not instanced or played in premade groups, as like an open world with meaningless few quests which are neither repetive nor engaging, and which give time gated borrowed power and some cosmetics... therefor completely removes a base system, called "character progression", from all players outside of raids and mythic+ gameplay.. which is not just an "awful" decision, but a "stupid" decision, as it removes any usefulness from any content other than the gameplay the devs deem fun, and as it removes a basic system from WoW every other RPG has.
When was the last time you could do world content and get as geared as a mythic raider

But that is not what i talk about. I talk about character progression. Means: You play the lowest difficulty to get gear for a higher difficulty. That system currently applies to mythic+ and premade raids only.

What i want is this for all gameplay in WoW:

You start at the lowest difficulty and progress up to the highest difficulty. Imagine this being implemented for systems like Torghast and world quests, offering easy low level rewards at the lowest diffculty, and allowing you to climb up a character progression ladder during the upcoming weeks and months. A system like that should be part of every RPG, and WoW as an RPG in special, as it is meant to be played by a diverse playerbase.

You seem to want to pretend i want to give easy epics to everyone. No, i do not want that. I want mythic raiders to get the best gear for their playstyle. But i also want "nightmare"-level quest players to also get the best gear for their playstyle as well. I also would add instanced content for solo players featuring raid and dungeon content and this kind of character progression.

I am not really "mad" at blizzard, i just wonder why they exlude everyone except pvpers, raiders and mythic+ players from character progression.
So it’s been over a decade since you could get the equivalent of 2-4 raid quality pieces via the rep grind

Sounds like you have about 6 years of classic you can enjoy

I ignored it because it falls apart five seconds after you actually think about it

You literally sit here crying about how the fact the guys in charge are doing what has been done for the last decade because “there’s no character progression outside of instances and organized content” which is BS btw because the fact remains the same that the progression system of the entire game is the same.
If you want big gear you do big content
And you even have progression via the multiple difficulties

If the main thing keeping a player down is needing friends then I think they have websites for that and a very simple group finder

    thats 100% what happened.

They did say a lot of shit how Bolvar was supposed to be a big hit in shadowlands, and the ebon blade, and their fancy ship. Of how the scourge would be a threat later, cause no helm of domination

There is to few high quality cinematics like the ones in Bfa in shadowlands, and this look like one of those, they prob scrap everything related to focus on Sylvanus super hero redemption to save us all.

I don't know where you got the idea that Azeroth being an old god was ever part of any hypothesis, as that shit has been obvious since at least vanilla (Uldaman, AQ, etc.).
And there is zero evidence regardless of what hypothesis is taken as likely; that's the point of a hypothesis about fiction.

Which leaves us with the similarity of name and concept between Azatoth and Azeroth, leading to this particular hypothesis about her awakening being cataclysmic.

Ashes of Galakros is the best title yet to come out of these leaks regarding dragon isles. Second place: Explosion of Dragons.

I love how Explosion of Dragons became the natural heir to Wrath of the Bolvar so quickly. Sometimes, this community makes me proud.

The biggest mistake of SL, other than things out of its control like Covid, will always be how it decided to be set solely in the Shadowlands. Not primarily, not partially, but solely in the Shadowlands.

We could have set the expansion in Northrend with brief forays into the Shadowlands, leaving the mystery more or less intact and getting more focus on characters we know and care about.

This again? This ridiculous idea that players would gladly accept another expansion set in the same continent? That forums would not explode in laughter on how lazy Blizz got? But I know that you just try to start another pro revamp conversation here.
Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

Players will complain about anything, so that's hardly a good argument against it.
The important part here is that one option explains everything about the Shadowlands and removes the mystery, the other lets you do pretty much all the same stuff, and also get back to plotpoints still ongoing in Northrend that are relevant like Azjol-nerub, Ulduar, or the impact of the feral scourge.

You vastly overstate the importance for players of all these things against going through the same continent and locations, revamp or not. And no, it doesn't allow you to do same stuff. SL allowed devs to go crazy with diverse and otherworldly settings. Good luck doing it in Northrend w/o some Olympic level mental gymnastics.

What will the Shadowlands matter once we leave? It will still be there, but will we ever realistically go back and have it be an important part of future stories? Can we expect to go see where the latest hero/villain gets sent after we kill them? Will Renathal come help us at random points in the story?

Northrend is comparatively going to be important in the future. Dragonblight is there, Ulduar is there, Vrykul are there, Alliance and Horde settlements are there.
The story moving forward in Northrend is far more relevant to the overall narrative than going to the Shadowlands is.

It will matter as much as Draenor, Outland, Broken Shore, Zandalar. Very little, aside from occasional quest chain or event. They all have relevant plot lines, Northrend is not special here in any regard. Blizz always prefers to put new zones in the spotlight and they deemed it a mistake that one time they didn't properly do it in Cata.

While I think a detour tier in Northrend dealing with the Scourge would have been awesome (or Thros, but I guess that's now saved for later), there is 0% chance Blizzard would develop a HD cinematic to the quality of the leak and than decide to scrap it. They would rather have used it for a single questline instead of scrapping an already finished cinematic - these things cost lots of money and take quite some time to make.

Let me put it this way then. Imagine we are looking at a Legion 2.0 situation where we go to loads of old zones getting updates on zones.
Which zones are more likely to be reused? Northrend, or the Shadowlands?

Broken Shore is relevant, Nightborne are close to it, same with Highmountain.
Kul Tiras and Zandalar are relevant, we have importabt characters that are from there, the fleets of the Alliance and Horde come from there.

The Shadowlands will likely never be relevant again. So why have we spent so much time on it? Why couldn't we have spent time in Northrend learning what the deal with Yogg-Saron was? Or what the Nerubians are up to?
Both those plot points are much more likely to be relevant in the future.
The world revamp dream will never die!
