No, not really. The color palette for Empire of Dragons is way more tame and in line with Blizzard's design philosophy. They would never, ever do something like Ascension of the Aspects.

Sorry but I hope people saying Ascension of the Aspects looks better than Empire of Dragons are joking. The EoD logo looks like a logo that could easily be real and be done by Blizzard (the resolution is quite low in this pic), but they'd never do something garrish like AotA. Come on. The colors are completely off.

I'd say both have issues. Empire is overdoing the visual elements, while Ascension has the... well... garish colour choices. It's also missing a considerable amount of the classic design elements.

For what it's worth, i don't like either much, but Empire is hurting my eyes less.

Boring ass generic fantasy dragon expansion is never going to happen on account of how boring and fucking unoriginal it is. What is this a F2P mobile game?

They could make a Warcraft/Starcraft crossover expansion for all we know. Its not outside the realm of possibility either, multi-franchisal crossovers are cool right now. Shadowlands is already a big rip off of Infinity War anyways. Lore reason is easy, oops Zovaal opened a rift in the 4th wall and look it's Raynor and Kerrigan and Zeratul and the new covenants are the Terran/Protoss/Zerg. We fight the Void which turns out to be the same force in both Starcraft and Warcraft.

It's worth noting that the logo being an obvious fake doesn't delegitimize the leak associated with it (if legit) since it's a separate user "yes and"-ing.

But it's pretty much a war crime to the senses either way.

Well, I'd argue this is beyond personal taste. The latter invalidates everything that stands for Blizzard's logo standards. Both saturation of these colors and contrasts are purely ridiculous. The bronze border is absolutely out of place, completely different aesthetics. So here, basically we have purple, pink, white and brown. How is that supposed to work altogether?

On the other hand, the so-called Empire of Dragons logo, is waaaay more balanced, colors are smooth and fitting. For sure, it's debatable whether Blizzard would go with dragons theme merged with old gods / void theme for an entire expansion, not to mention that apart from the word dragons there's literally nothing about this logo that could indicate Dragon themed expansion.

Yet purely on terms of artistic quality, these two are incomparable. And if the first logo isn't legit, the effort put to make such a well-designed fake image is admirable.

There's little smoke trail/ray effects on the first version as if it was taken mid animation, missing in the HD version.

Not just the copy paste thing. You can literally see a vague line where one part begins and another ends. Like slightly to the left of the middle red dip you made for example.
