If something is so delayed that you don't know whether your announcement will be ready on your internal date until the literal day beforehand I feel like the marketing team would just instantly go "ok shove the announcement up by two weeks". There's no way.

I'm confused by your reply. Are you agreeing or disagreeing with me? Do you think they would or wouldn't announce something this big (like 10.0) within a day or two?

They usually post something a few days before any announcements indeed, yet for 9.2 they teased us with a short video on Twitter and the actual Dev Preview came out the day after that.

Agreeing, I was saying even if they did originally have the 18th as the planned date and that leak is somehow true, there's no way they would just drop 10.0 on us without at least a week's warning for the announcement as a bare minimum.

I agree that with the amount of similar leaks, it is hard to keep them all apart. I feel like i've seen at least 50 at this point.

I don't even remember if there has been a leak that is not about dragons, lol. A Light-Void-Yrel leak maybe? I can't remember.

9.2 is a patch. The announcements that are about to happen in two days are new games, beta, expansion announcement etc. You really cannot compare that.

Even so, I think announcing an announcement one day before (if Friday is the hypothetical day) would be a HUGE fail on Blizzard's part. I never believed the February 18th date as mentioned in the AoG "leaks"; however, if it were true, we should have already had a pre-announcement to HYPE/prepare people for the full announcement this Friday. While they could, in theory, announce something today (2 day heads up), even then it would be a FAIL IMO. The 10.0 announcement should be HYPED up in advance by several days, weeks even. Lastly, I still believe at this point (since we are so close to 9.2 release), 10.0 should wait to be announced until, at the minimum, week of the Jailer fight.

Heck they announced the Legion announcement one week before and we already knew that they are present at Gamescom.

Yeah they won't reveal 10.0 like that. Imo we'll have a "Join us on -insert day- to see what's next for World of Warcraft" post, in which our beloved Ion will invite us to come and watch the stream. (and he will say : the team is pretty happy with Shadowlands in overall).

Exactly. A one day heads up for a patch announcement makes sense. Not for a new expansion. Before Covid, we always knew about Blizzcon months in advance. We always assumed that we would get an announcement for a new expansion at that Blizzcon (the Blizzcon that would happen on a odd year or one year after the current expansion's launch).

We obviously know that Blizzcon isn't happening; however, I would still assume that we will get a 1 week (minimum) heads up. Anything less would destroy HYPE for the announcement and be an epic fail (IMO). Regardless, today is Wednesday so time will tell.

I'll just say that Blizzard not making a dragon class based off of characters like Alexstraza, Chromie, Wrathion, and Kalecgos would be one of the biggest missed opportunities ever. People would go crazy over a class like that.

Tbh, i believe this is legit leak simply because there is no obligatory supplementary info, that features the expac content.
Its just simple high quality logo with no elaboration, and this is why i believe it could have accidentally slipped out of some dev's discord or communication app.

Yeah, I think so too. It simply fits on multiple levels, and like you said, it's not some hyper detailed leak, it's just a simple logo that's incredibly well done. Looking at other logo fakes makes you realize just how well done that logo really is.

No. It was only the logo. The written leak came just one or two days ago.

But what is that second picture? It doesn't look like anything close to what we've seen in Shadowlands. It looks pretty distinctly like a Void Invasion of Azeroth to me. Could just be the part of Bastion that has been invaded by the Void, though. But that being said, considering how much has been revealed about the Void / Light cosmic war, and with Elune being revealed, it would be amiss to ignore all the potential plot setup.

The second image is fake iirc, added together with another fake leak at the time, the first one is from a promotional email leak. Also the Bolvar cinematic leak was also another authentic one.

Just take a closer look at the letter T in warcraft. Or at the top globe-y thing not being nicely round. Some side adornments are just copy pasted naaru parts. Im also pretty sure someone explained it in detail with pictures and red circles a long while ago.

The Empire of Dragons logo doesn't have a good source but iirc i don't think the SL logo did either, it was just posted here I think. I'm no expert on Expansion logos but I do remember people saying the SL one was obviously fake so I guess it's either way at this point lol.

Nothing on that logo is copy pasted, its clearly drawn.

When we pointed out the Naaru details on the border, it was in context of the expansion title not matching the logo theme.
Like taking the wod logo and replacing the title with 'Secrets of the Faerie Kingdom', EoD clashes in the same way.
