The Empire of Dragons logo doesn't have a good source but iirc i don't think the SL logo did either, it was just posted here I think. I'm no expert on Expansion logos but I do remember people saying the SL one was obviously fake so I guess it's either way at this point lol.

    ???

Nothing on that logo is copy pasted, its clearly drawn.

When we pointed out the Naaru details on the border, it was in context of the expansion title not matching the logo theme.
Like taking the wod logo and replacing the title with 'Secrets of the Faerie Kingdom', EoD clashes in the same way.

The BfA logo is literally a Photoshop collage of different pieces of the sword from the Warcraft movie. And the SL logo was absolutely slaughtered as definitely fake for similar "obvious" flaws before it was confirmed real.
I wouldn't be so sure to assume small details are "obvious" tells of being fake. If someone taking the time to make a fake this gold can fail on basic stuff then why not Blizzard?

Just wait and see lads. Even the Icecream logo was better than EoD.

Also we should acknowledge that there is a chance that the EoD logo is an early version of the official one. I remember BFA having a rougher looking logo than the final one that was more computer-generated.

Yeah, I don't get the hate the EoD logo gets. I have yet to see a fake logo that comes close to matching it.

My main gripes with the Empire of Dragons logo (aside from it being kind of ugly, but the Shadowlands one isn't much better) are:

    - The missmatch of themes: Blizzard is usually a lot clearer with their products. They have to sell this expansion to people who have never heard of WoW. Mixing darkness (Void), sci-fi (Naaru) and a classic fantasy trope (Dragons) doesn't seem like a good marketing decision.

    - The name: What is the Empire of Dragons. People are talking about Wrathion gathering an army, or a hidden group of Void Dragons. Neither of those things are an empire. If there was such thing as an Empire of Dragons, we would have heard of it from Alexstrasza, Ysera or Kalecgos, no? And if whatever society of dragons is in the expansion isn't quite an empire, they probably wouldn't call it that, and it definitely wouldn't be the name of the expansion.

So either the logo is fake, or both the theme and story of the expansion are a stretch from the get go. Admitedly, Warlords of Draenor was quite the stretch, but at least it had a consistent theme.

Because it doesn't matter at all. It's a logo. Most logos don't communicate much to outsiders anyway. Nobody can tell all that stuff from a logo, it just needs to look high quality and pretty. And the EoD logo does exactly that.

What where the Mists of Pandaria? The Warlords of Draenor? What's the Wrath of the Lich King? All these names made little sense before their announcement, but we're very clear after the reveal.

Yes but the colors always matched with the theme. this one doesn't. Purple isn't clear dragons. Yes there are void dragons, but that would be like making the legion logo red because they have Eredar. The color with the title doesn't make sense. If there is a dragon themed expansion, I expec the logo to be brownish/orange-ish. Also the name is rediculous. Dragons don't have Empires. This title won't even make sense after it is announced.

All this stuff would be obvious when the expansion is revealed.
If we learn dragons are attempting to band together, then that is the empire. If we learn there is a dragon empire already then that is the empire in question.
The color scheme could be referencing the old gods in relation to the dragons origin, or even just Deathwing and his corruption. It could be hinting at some cosmic shenanigans relating to dragons or just titans.

In a vacuum it might seem weird and confused, but so did Battle for Azeroth and we did just fine with that once we knew what it was about.

The Shadowlands logo is silver-white. I have no idea how that matches the theme.

I guess it was meant to represent the veil between Azeroth and the Shadowlands?

The Logo is Arbiter themed, with Jailer details thrown in.

Ok and how made that sense before the revelation and we knew about the Arbiter and the breaking of the veil? Exactly, we didn’t. Which is exactly my point. Could be the same with the Empire of Dragons logo.

When I think more about it, I switch my prediction for reveal from 10th to 17th March. They will give warning ~week before, and when they'll do it, all speculations will shift to 10.0 (you think now leak flood is bad? oh sweet summer child). So:

    - Patch 9.2 on 22nd (first cinematic? I think we have 4 beside already released Sylvanas one)
    - Anduin cinematic 1st March
    - Jailer cinematic 8th March
    - reveal annoucement (maybe with Warcraft mobile game?) 10th March
    - Jailer falls on Mythic 14-15th March (unless something is really broken)
    - 10.0 event 17th March - maybe with some short 10.0 demo? (wowdev3, ekhem)
    - last days of March hopefully 9.2.5 PTR - sooner it will be done, sooner Alpha will start.

Shadowlands is almost monochromatic and has ghostly stuff. It's not as obvious as something like Cataclysm, but it is pretty clearly death themed. Now, it's true that nobody who doesn't play WoW knows that the Shadowlands are the land of the dead. But at least it's dark and moody, which fits the only relatable word, Shadow.

Empire of Dragons, you tell that name to anyone, and they'll expect gold/silver/gemstones (Empire = riches) and/or wood/stone/leather/scales (Dragons = fantasy), not space or sci-fi elements.

Did people already forget the Voidwings at the end of BFA?

    ???

The Shadowlands logo is silver and white. That’s something you’d relate to heaven, not hell / death.

Space or SciFi elements? Again, where? Nobody would say the EoD logo has space or sci-fi adornments or would look like that, lol. Don’t know where you get that from without dissecting the logo.

At best an outsider would see the night sky with stars.
