Again, I am not doubting the arguments that are made now for the Shadowlands logo. With our recent knowledge all of it makes sense. But please rewind back to October 2019 when the Shadowlands logo was leaked. We pretty much debunked it at first. Nobody was talking about domination magic back then, because nobody could make that statement during that time - the domination magic was hardly known, if at all.

You just have to bring your mind back to a state before anything about Shadowlands was known. And then ask yourself if you think that the logo fits something called Shadowlands.

Thing is, it's awful telling that you're outright assuming we're not, that I'm not. Not very kind actually, rather patronizing behavior. I never doubted the SL logo, and without knowing the name of "Domination" magic, I could recognize it's look from Icecrown.

Isn't it kind of oversimplifying Azeroth to say that OUR heroes are the only ones apparently capable of defending the planet/people?

Thousands of years existed before our characters, and it's reasonable to say that after we "disappear" or "die", that a new wave of heroes will rise and become just as capable for thousands of years later.

We only became powerful by surviving hardships. So I wonder if even Blizz views the Scourge as a big deal in the modern game-setting? Would new heroes not be made?

Sure we see places like Lakeshire being assaulted by Scourge, but are we really to assume Redridge is about to get the Plaguelands treatment? probably not.

Maybe, but then we should have known something about it. Even with it being "on other side of Azeroth" or "a secret flying continent", we've interacted extensively with the most powerful dragons, and protected the whole world with them. Either the Aspects don't know about them, which is silly, or they've kept it a secret from people they trusted their lives and planet with.

It's not impossible that Blizzard would stretch the lore like that, and it certainly wouldn't be the first time, but it'd be weird to have the brand new massive retcon as the expansion subtitle.

The next expansion being announced isnt a small thing that players might not necessarily care that much about. It's a massive multimedia event that is given primetime billing in Blizzcon's personal convention.
Something that important would likely be given at least a good week of buildup with a proper announcement just for the stream itself. The announcement as well being a longer format blue post stickied on the launcher, if not a video itself. Even the announcement itself would probably be given some buildup by a developer on twitter as well for that matter.

The Ashes leak is suppsed to be announced on Friday, and even giving it the most leeway imaginable there is no way that is going to happen, at best it might be the pre-announcement.

Woah, you're saying that no one is actually so context-blind as to continuously ignore every statement, both implicit and explicit on the claim that no one is interested in speaking about this incredibly narrow topic 24/7 in relation to everything? You're implying that someone may have to be trying to get a response if they only post complete nonsense contradictory to all reason whilst maintaining as smug as possible of an aura while doing it? Drawing attention to a logical failing of someone who is trying to broadcast the logical failing deliberately is precisely what they want to happen.
