Did I miss anything interesting in the past hundred pages or so? Any lingering mysteries or credible rumours? I don’t want to sift through all the back-and-forth I saw going on when I clicked back a few pages…

Sigh.
Any interesting info would be repeat maany times. Not only on this thread. For people not interested in 9.2 at all, next 3 weeks here will be just killing time I guess.

Eh, sometimes the interesting stuff is buried in the usual “discussions” people insist upon having. Worth asking!
On one hand you didn't have to do anything to unlock DHs, while allied races (Ren'dorei included) required you to complete certain story questlines and grind reputation with some Legion factions. On the other hand, the Ren'dorei (and other allied races) have multiple class choices, which means they offer a more varied game experience by default, while the DHs are just one class. They also had more unique and elaborate kinds of racial abilities that certainly intruiged most people. We also can't forget the allure of cosmetic sets in Heritage armour.
I am also willing to argue that certain allied races (like the Ren'dorei or the Dark Iron Dwarves, which originally were meant to come with the launch of BfA) had comparable or even more hype to them than DHs. People have wanted Alliance Thalassian Elves and Villainous Dwarves as playable races for many years.
I would say that Allied races had far greater impact on the sales of their expansion than DHs for Legion.

No, you didn’t. This thread has been going back and forth with the exact same arguments and topics in the last days that were discussed months ago. The only thing that might have happened is the release of a new PTR version for WoW which points to a new release being tested in the future (not related to Shadowlands).
Make Alliance Great Again
So, as far as I can tell, these are our choices...
Dragon-focused Dragon Isles expansion with Tinkers
Void-focused K'aresh space expansion with Tinkers.
Life-focused expansion where we visit the other Zereths. With Tinkers.
Emerald Dream expansion finally happening. With Tinkers.
Azeroth world revamp electric boogaloo 2.0 with Tinkers.
Lightbound invasion expansion with Tinkers.
Some time travel expansion out of nowhere. With Tinkers.
That about sums it up?

Not him obviously but I'll chime in with my extra zany alternative that I actually would enjoy:
A time travel expansion where our characters, and a sizable chunk of the Horde & Alliance were dropped in the era of pre-sundering Azeroth during the time where the Watchers were active, the Kaldorei empire was in full-swing as well as the Troll Empires. Chronicles really spoiled me with reading about this era.

Point is, these are just vague ideas, they could be both interesting or boring. You can bet that if it's Emerald Dream or Karesh it won't be what we imagine, it will be what we imagine in 1 zone + 3/4/5 more zones with new lore.
And I know people always shit on current content, but zones/instances are never weak point of WoW, usually reward system is.
Yes Because they're bad.
The Dragons im all for or a world revamp, probably no damned Tinkers, We need New specs for current classes or complete class overhauls are needed.

Not a him but I like your ideas.
