One of my biggest concerns that I heard someone bring up recently was that finding people willing to work on WoW at this point is going to be challenge. Not only do they have to be skilled or experienced enough to join in, obviously with training involved, but they have to WANT to work on it. WoW is old. WoW came out when Halo 2 came out. Just think about that for a minute. The amount of janky, ancient spaghetti code they have to work with is likely a serious pain in the ass. The age of WoW engine, even with the updates that they keep running through it, is a serious hinderance.

Considering a new Halo just came out using a modified version of that engine? They essentially redid a lot of WoW code in Cata. They're perfectly capable of updating & removing anything they need to. If they do another world revamp, they could completely revamp the engine like they did in Phantasy Star Online 2 New Horizons: That game integrates two totally different engines pretty seamlessly.

This looks disgusting. Feels like they cut and pasted random Maw/Torghast assets together and greyscaled them with a brownish tinge on top. The background of the main logo also looks like Saronite. It just looks generically edgy and doesn't mean much. I hate it.

Nope, I don't think we did.

It was an easy guess, because the post 9.1 raid dialogues hinted at it. I and many others made the guess that it would be the next zone far before that leak came out.

Im also expecting the trailer on launch day. Unfortunately, since 7.2 they have just been cuts of zone previews/small pieces of the new cinematics or even just a whole ingame cinematic. I miss the old style unique trailers like 4.2 and 5.4. Those were cool.

Considering Elune + Malorne = Cenarius? Probably not. Also that was the initial confusion from the Winter Queen's comments. Ysera is a follower of Elune, but Eonar made Ysera. It's vague if Eonar created Ysera wholesale or they mean Eonar ascended a regular dragon into the Emerald Dragonflight, but also it seemed like Eonar & the Winter Queen are on the same level power-wise. If Elune & the Winter Queen are sisters, are Elune & Eonar cousins? Or why Winter Queen was so offended at the idea of saving Ysera when she's reincarnated Cenarius at least 3 times.

Zereth Mortis is bigger in scope than Tanaan. Also you forgot 6.1. I would never consider it a major patch, but officially it is.

It's just Erasula being disingenious as ever. 9.2 has at least the same amount of content as 6.2. I'd even argue it's more.

9.2 gives us the Zereth Mortis campaign anyway, so the Legendary questline isn't actually an extra to begin with.

Maybe it's like a holy trinity thing with Eonar and Elune. They're separate beings but also not. It would explain why Elune and WQ are sisters and why Eonar kinda looks like WQ.

That could be the story thread for a Dragon+Worldrevamp storyline.

To make up for the Jailer gravely injuring Azeroth the remaining Eternal Ones could re-empower the Dragon soul so the Dragonflight can heal the planet.

The latest WOD patch has at least its own cinematic that Shadowlands doesn't have.

We know there are several pre-rendered videos in the patch. Sometimes they use a pre-rendered video to open a content patch, and sometimes they don't. That's not a big deal.

"Empire of Dragons" as an expansion would be similar to "Legion".

- Both came after an expansion that was cut short and rushed

- Both were expected to "save WoW"

- Both would deal with Universal-ending threats (the Legion/The Void Lords/the Old Gods)

- Both, however, would subvert the story by having the conflict take place in some random isles somewhere in the ocean (Broken Isles/Dragon Isles)

- Both would introduce a new class (Demon Hunter/Dragon Class)

It might not be called "Empire of Dragons" and might not have that name, but it seems like a kind of expansion that is very likely, if not outright confirmed, to happen.

Even so, I hope the logo is real because it tells you all you need to know about the expansion. It's about the Void invasion, but with heavy focus on Dragons.

I'd call it a Cataclysm 2.0

Sepulcher = Hellfire Citadel

Yes, trailers like these. Apart from 7.1 which was a low effort one. This is the last one of the real trailers we got for a new patch.

7.1 was the last time.

Since then, the "patch cinematic" is also the introductory cinematic. The cinematic for 9.2 was the Sylvanas one. 9.1 was the Anduin one. 8.3 was the Wrathion on and so on and so on.

I mean it makes sense why they stopped doing these, they were mostly a waste of resources and never showed up in game. They just started using in game cinematics as trailers which I'd argue is better because you can actually have a purpose for them to be in the game itself.
