People would way prefer an NPC taking the kill/defeat as in Legion, Wrath, Cataclysm, than having us beam the boss in a cringe DBZ cutscene like Nzoth and then having an underwhelming cinematic after. I believe it is also better for the health of the lore/story for a named character to take the kill

Agreed. It takes a lot away from the whole "elf" image that we've had built up for so long. Definitely disappointing.

shiny eyes on elves, DID and DKs were better before 8.3 as well. i'm not sure why, but it's like they want to make everyone more 'human'. something something Elf, human, we are all equal, Keeshan

I think you mean "some people." There's been plenty of people who've moaned in the past for having their "Kill stolen"

Yes, I agree not everyone but a group of people.
But IMO I have seen less outcry regarding other ending cinematics where the boss gets killed than for the Nzoth cutscene where we beam him.

The Nzoth "cinematic" was the worst shit ever. Lich king kill cinematic and Azshara kill cinematic show that you can easily have a pre-rendered cinematic where the actual final blow happens offscreen before the cinematic. I hope for Sepulcher we get a proper ending cinematic like after ARgus.

You can start playing on week 3 I think and get flying in 1 day (story + few exploration achievs). Rep is only important if you want 2nd legendary in other slot than waist.

Guess this will be the way to go for me then.

Tbh SL IMO has less strict timegating than Legion (biggest culprit) and BfA.
Only really timegated stuff in SL is campaign chapter and things relating to them which makes sense somewhat. While I remember legion 7.2 "storyline" (almost no story there) being timegated to wait a week for a quest which only required you to give Dadghar a bunch of nethershards or something...

SL stuff was "gated" but not by time and was mostly grindable (with obviously major powerups having a weekly cap like legendaries originally)

I find it funny that the scandal was the main reason why Microsoft got interested in Activision-Blizzard and considered the acquistion. Maybe their low performance during COVID further helped to make this deal possible at this point and rate.

The scandal dropped actiblizz' value. What better time to do it than when they are at their cheapest. I mean everyone can see the unutilized potential they have. And they must realize "hey, we can do this shit better".
