While I have not had the time to really sit down and enjoy Zereth Mortis yet, i do have to say it does feel leaps and bounds better than Korthia in terms of being a zone I want to spend time in.
It has for me underlined how much I really don't care about Shadowlands. Because this area is practically screaming at me to be impressed by how it captures the idea of a world in artificial development. And yet despite this, and how much I can tell it goes hard on a unified theme, I just cannot get past how little Shadowlands has grabbed me, which in turn reflects poorly on this zone.
I see the pools stretching down into the abyss, filled with half formed creatures and those strange orbs. But instead of feeling like I am uncovering a mystery, I just sit and feel like I would have cared so much more if I was invested in the overarching theme.
Really excited to see the Pocopoc stuff though. Didnt spoil it too much for myself this PTR cycle, but from what I saw it looks like a great step forward in open world content progression. The gear set with additional abilities is s nice touch, if probably a bit difficult to justify when it has to compete with raid sets, and for that matter flying once that becomes available...
