to clarify, by epilogue i mean the "Judgment" chapter of the campaign that was cut from the campaign chapter list come late PTR/Live

Honestly it was pretty cool to hear Arthas' voice, or at least the strong lean towards letting that voice come through before Varian appears.
Surprised not many are commenting on that?

The CC lists it as The Jailer's voice, and I'm curious why they put it this way.
Zovaal and Arthas are voiced by the same person, Patrick Seitz, also Garrosh's VA.

If you just listen to all of the Jailer scenes in order up to this moment, he's always had -very- bassy, lower voice than what speaks the lines as it lingers on the glowing Arthas anima.

"Fulfill your final purpose. Annihilation. The Fate of all who carry my blade."

Only it's not the familiar Ner'zhul/Lich King filtered Arthas voice, so it's not as immediately obvious it's specifically him.

Argue if you will but that was certainly intended to invoke Arthas' voice in 'spirit' if not literally his voice. Zovaal has never sounded that much like him, and Patrick Seitz isn't just doing that by accident.

And then also, Varian's voice... Oh man..

If there's ONE THING the 10.0 trailer can do that would automatically hype me, it's if Chris Metzen can voice over like he did for Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria's reveal trailers.

Also I love this detail where Uther shuts his eyes just before Arthas' Anima fades away completely, like he can't bare to watch. Considering Afterlives: Bastion was one of the first, pretty awesome bits of Shadowlands lore we got, this was at least a nice conclusion to Uther's afterlife arc.

I honestly enjoyed the cinematic, especially Anduin's portion. I'm not Sylvanas' biggest fan or anything, but this, like BFA, is her focal expansion, of course it will be more about her. I will say, I enjoyed that despite not saying anything, they gave Uther a lot of emotion in the background.

That said, I'm feeling banshee fatigue and will be happy if she fades from the spotlight for a long time.

“But that’s not an easy road to walk,” he continues, “and whether she can do that and what form that takes is what you’ll see as you play through that content. We’re very excited about how that story culminates. It will play out in a chapter of the Covenant campaign that we didn’t put out on the test realm for a specific reason: because we wanted to hold back that final piece to the story for players to discover as they play through the content.”

    That is what he said.

I won't even bother to explain how sickening is the fact that Sylvanas reprimanded Arthas uninterrupted, as all that remained of him was about to fade. Extremely disgusting and disrespectful.

So, now that Sylvanas got her redemption and justice, what's next? Perhaps a new throne at the Seat of the Pantheon?

Former. As in over a decade ago. She long since moved on. Uther also came to terms with his issues already and it was a fairly significant part of the 9.1 storyline. Sylvanas is the only one missing.

I'm still speechless about the fact how everyone simply forgot what Uther did there. And how they made Devos a baddie. She did nothing wrong lol. Shes the 1 who warned everyone about Janitors (lets pretend it was all his doing since WC3) activities in world of the living.

I'm starting to think the people that wanted "closure" for Jaina after a decade kinda don't even care for her lmao. Jaina has been SO MUCH MORE after WotLK, she has had like 2 whole arcs it feels disrespectful to keep bringing she and Arthas dated like 20 years ago good grief. While I wish WotLK had had better closure, she had it then.

And I feel Uther got the suitable amount of screentime since, you know, he was the one that threw him into the Maw.

Exactly, for real we couldn't have spent too much with Uther without ending on the "sorry I damned you to the Maw!!"

Made sense to me that it was Sylvanas doing so more than anyone else. Jaina had moved past her anger/heartbreak for Arthas years ago & has had relationships since. Uther has gotten past his anger over how Arthas hurt him and is still dealing with his guilt over throwing Arthas into the Maw. Sylvanas though....she just got that fragment of her soul back & never got her revenge. If anyone had any further issues with Arthas, it would be her. So her taking the lead & saying her piece felt right to me.

As for her next step, it's almost certainly going to be some sort of atonement for her sins. Beyond that...I'm personally predicting she gets put in the "later plot" box to be opened when Alleria goes crazy with void & needs her sisters to bring her back to reality.

    "She did nothing wrong."

She did, she sided with the Jailer and let herself be duped and sorta pushed Uther on to damn Arthas to the Maw not that it matters. Jailer loves to mess with his former heralds.

Im baffled that people think this cinematic was good.

Not that they liked, people have different tastes, but to think such bullshit was a good cinematic, a worthy ending for a "chapter of the book that started at wc3", or "if we are going to bring Arthas we have to do right" speech, is just dumbfounding, first the crown and now this, Danuser keep disrespecting wow lore.

Its funny how "let the name Arthas be forgotten" will turn upside down when they announce classic wotlk to milk that name out.

From launching whole campaign to stop Jailer to becoming his puppet. That just shows the level of logical thinking blizzard writers have.
