Lol, they're just stating their opinion which happens to be the opposite of this guy who thinks MoP is the expansion equivalent of the Sistine Chapel. I like MoP too but it's extremely weird the lengths people will go to ignore its many, many flaws.

Apparently they can since people are still around

It all started with Legion in my eyes. It's not much better than BFA. Tho, sl is shit even for legion/bfa standards.

I'm not going to defend Shadowlands or point out that TLJ was 'polarizing' not universally hated like trosw was, but between the Announcement Cinematic & the Tyrande/Sylvanas fight, Shadowlands had the most complex cinematics to date for this franchise

I'm going to slightly agree. I loved Legion. It's my favorite expansion to date. However? The last, the VERY last cinematic with Sargeras? Complete dogshit how we let him live... and bigger dogshit how a sword that fucking big didn't kill everyone nor reshape the world.

TLJ was the best movie of the new trilogy. ROSW was boring as fuck, though. I will agree with the parallel, though, if only to say that the SW fandom is probably the only thing remotely comparable to WoW's in terms of pointless toxicity.

Enough with the ungliness. Is it World of Beautycraft?

Not to mention that we were running rampart through his Headquarters while he was dry-humping our planet without any single visible damage on Azeroths surface.

And that small group of "Lightforged" draenei managed to stay hidden for 10.000, 20.000 years xD

Plenty of people DID write off Void Elves as making no sense, and therefore impossible, despite our constant exclaiming that Blizzard can make or justify whatever they want. MMO-C is just like that. Some of those same people are in this thread.

Also, what's this I hear about reputable sources "signing off" on an EoD leak? Which EoD leak?

There are basically no reputable sources for WoW leaks unless you really believe people like Bellular etc. Like @Shadowlands-is-fake mentioned, EoD seems barebones enough so people can insert what they want in their minds without it being ruined or made obviously fake by a bunch of text following it.

So I don't even understand this "They put more effort into BFA." Cinematics like Old Soldier require a crap ton more effort then the Anduin being freed one.
They said Shadowlands is "the culmination of a storyline that has been brewing by years," and lorewise I do not feel a more significant effort than in BFA. At least in BFA, Blizzard made an effort to close the war storyline, while Nzoth was just uninspired.

In BFA, we lost the opportunity to explore the influence of a free Old God and Nyalotha. In Shadowlands, we are in a crucial place: the cradle of creation, and it does not stand out as "the culmination of several years".

That’s because (and idc what Ion says because that was PR garbage) the expansion has been cut short. Freeing Anduin was probably supposed to be in 9.2 but the jailer was definitely 9.3 content

I've heard this claimed before, but I do not get that feeling at all. Is it purely because Anduin's boss fight is so difficult, that people think he was meant to be an end boss and there would have been a follow up raid? What would possibly have served as a 9.3 storyline/content?

The idea is that we would have had a 9.2 where we save Anduin, and then have a 9.3 that is still in Zereth Mortis, but where we immediately try and focus on resisting domination, instead of what we have now where resisting domination is only a real issue after we have defeated Anduin.
The world revamp dream will never die!

The idea predates the release of 9.2. There's a number of storylines in SL that feel fast-tracked or just abandoned. The Covenant conclusions in 9.1, or the Drust for example.

I could buy that there was a cut early release raid, in the vein of Emerald Nightmare/Uldir, that would have been set in Ardenweald and involved the Drust or similar.

That they wasted all the CGI cinematics on a sad suicidal orc without devoting even just one to N'Zoth, who up to that point was the undisputed main villain of WOW, is criminal and a travesty.
