So not only did they reduce Arthas to an unwitting pawn who's soul ultimately went "poof", but his proud citadel, bastion of the Scourge and forged from the blood of an Old God, was just the Jailer's machinery all along? I don't know man. As cool as the cinematic is, and as much as I do like call-backs to old lore, and appreciate them tying up the knot with the reason Sylvanas shattered the sky over Icecrown, it doesn't sit right with me.

Arthas and Icecrown is sacred stuff.

I don't think it would reduce Yogg-Saron, frankly. The reduction of Arthas here is unfortunate, but nothing can be done about it—they are at least giving a slightly more interesting payoff than I expected, and I do think that Yogg-Saron is in no way reduced. Plenty of folks have used an Old God's bits before for their evil schemes, so it's not too bad for an opportunistic villain to simply happen to use Yogg-Saron's power.

I don't think it would reduce Yogg-Saron, frankly. The reduction of Arthas here is unfortunate, but nothing can be done about it—they are at least giving a slightly more interesting payoff than I expected, and I do think that Yogg-Saron is in no way reduced. Plenty of folks have used an Old God's bits before for their evil schemes, so it's not too bad for an opportunistic villain to simply happen to use Yogg-Saron's power.

Shocker a villain discarding those it finds useful. I mean.... yeah I'm not exactly jumping for joy at Arthas but....I didn't see Icecrown being literally a place where it can drain the soul of Azeroth.

I feel like we're way beyond the pale with that and have been. It was only a matter of time that they retroactively did that when everything else has been set up as a Jailer plot all along.
