DRAGONMIRE BINGO2024 - 11.0 - The 10th Expansion - The 20th Anniversary of World of WarcraftFor Azeroth!
Ah got it. So is the story now that Zovaal made Arthas and the scourge build it specifically to suck out Azeroth's soul?

I think people are being too hard on Danuser. WoW's story has never been amazing. It was mostly the gameplay that made it a cut above everything else. The problem really is that the end game systems suck, the lack of end level abilities suck, and the lack of new races and classes suck as well.
Oh ffs......

Oof this quote of his could be applied to Shadowlands humorously.
Happen to like a bit less vaguely interesting and a lot more awesomely interesting things in our Warcraft. Just me? lol“I don’t have many talents in life, but chief among them is being able to blend disparate nonsense into something a tiny group of people will find vaguely interesting.”
and yea I wasn't so much trying to add more to the pile, but making light of the abundance of 'negative attention' he's getting atm.
My biggest red flag with the guy is just that he even speaks like that in his blogs, twitter etc.
Even being on West Coast Canada, if you say things like that where I live you'd get the strangest looks. Probably a local thing I guess.

My guess is that he wanted to dominate the cosmos to work like a single mind (his mind) in the hopes that way the Coming Threath could be stopped.
Also, it's hinted to be the 7th Force outside the know reality, so we probably next expansions is us uniting the different Forces to fight back.

https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads...-Cosmic-Forces How about that?

I refuse to put full blame on just one guy for everything wrong with the story.
Sure he is the lead but there is still a team of writers and anyone who worked on lore in gamedev knows that it's not just the other people writing out the ideas of the Lead.
What we could hold him for is probably the part where the mysteries didn't get resolved and the Sylvanas spotlight. But for other stuff he mostly probably came up with broad concepts which the rest of the team worked on, or reviewing ideas of other writers and Warcrafting them to fit the story.
If he really was this dictator over ALL THE LORE and Story team they wouldn't have kept him for so long.
But his general style seems to be writing overarching mysteries, thats okay since since every writer needs their style.
Now on to the cinematic and what it tells us:
I guess the name Forge of Souls makes more sense now. And I LOVE that he didn't just use Titan tech (I assumed he would try reorigination of the cosmos because of the Cosmos dude he had with him. But I LOVE that they used actual machinery built by people under his command and presumably for this goal and purpose. I am guessing his plan was to initially have Arthas break the helm after a sufficient amount of scourge was on Azeroth so no rebellion. He could open the portal to gain a large (whole planet population) army. Afterwards he couldn't take hold of bolvar so the more complicated plan got spring up. And he still kept the rest of his force under control in case they are neede. (For example we still don't know why he needed a Nathrezim in the Army of Light but he had influence there).
I believe the events we saw weren't Zovaal's masterplan all along, but he spread his influence wide so that if something fails he still has options to his goal. If what I mentioned above happened then he might not have needed the new Arbiter to break, or perhaps he had a different way of doing that (CHanneling all the souls in frostmourne). Sargeras destroying Azeroth would've probably also benefited his goals.
I am very interested to find out what this divide in the cosmos might be.
As for impact of Azeroth we saw that it obviously doesn't have any directly observable impact on Azeroth as most of it would be focused on Icecrown and Northrend, but what it could lead to is later consequences (months ingame time, between now and 10.0 ingame time) that could show up because a portion of he soul was syphoned,. To me at the moment world revamp seems a bit less likely as we would've gotten an Icecrown revamp similar to Silithus after Antorus. It is still possible for an revamp to occure because of this down the line but in my opinion down the line.
Also has anyone in the US checked after defeating Zovaal if the red star is still up in the sky?

Also to add, this cinematic was definitely better than the 8.3 ending cinematic, but worse than the 8.3.5 ending (Saurfang v Sylvanas)

i don't see the big deal with a wrong typo that you want to base your strawman though.
Not rly, cause your point is that i said everything is danuser fault, i only said shadowlands is his faultI appreciate you doubling down and proving my exact point. Thank you.

there is nothing implying that, at all, you are just like the other, jumping to conclusions.
I'm blaming everything in shadowlands on him, but he was part of trilogy

So the jailer essentially tried what Wrathion did in MoP except instead of manipulating people he just said “I’ll do it myself”
Thrall sums up my feelings about this expansion;
No old friend, you certainly are not.
