Because in terms of WoW villains he’s rather strong and pretty dangerous. I mean overall he was a threat because of his size and the horde of zombie dragons he made just like most raid bosses aren’t world ending cekestials

But good villain is when bigger & badder tho

i was watching the OW2 update, posted today. They said the pvp will be testable this week and a new hero is gonna be available Sojourn. There was a leak ( ashes of something ) saying that OW2 would have be testable mid march with new heros , one of them being sojorun. Am i wrong?

This has been discussed. Other factors jossed Ashes, Sojourn was a lucky guess and we knew she'd be coming for months before.

TBC had the worst lore and the raiding "experience" was quite bad compared to WotLK.

Legion > MoP > WotLK = Shadowlands > Cataclysm > WoD > BfA > TBC

Firstly, even when it was current and people were very invested in disliking it, WoD was still considered to have an extraordinarily good raiding experience. WoD remains fairly fondly-remembered by raiders despite being probably the most maligned expansion for everyone else.

Second, lorewise, I really can't see how Shadowlands could be near-equivalent to WotLK.

Third, the content of TBC was very well-liked and even though the raiding and lore were both fairly mediocre, the actual developments were very good in terms of gameplay and mechanics.

More like leaks unhappened. I don't think we've seen anything that was more than an obvious fake. EoD logo and therewillbedragons leaks were admitted as faked.

But just like WoW's story, the language of the First Ones is absurdly cryptic and requires grinding through side content to fully decipher. And when you hear it out loud, it sounds like just garbled noise.

Pretty much:

It was made in Photoshop. Ok, so I used the classic vanilla logo as the reference point for the border and Shadowlands' logo for the "WoW" text (tweaked the colors etc). I handpainted the border, some parts are inspired by a Naaru but the rest I just winged. The starry background is just a photo of the sky.

Bagina, the poster who shared it in the first place, admitted to making it and shared a gif of the creation process. Funnily enough, Bagina also posted in another fake leak thread about a week beforehand to say the EoD logo was not associated with that leak and thus the leak was fake. So yeah it is pretty clear who made it.

True enough—I only am talking about the writers when I say that. Also, don't neglect the music team. Shadowlands has a pretty decent OST, and the Janitor's leitmotif is the one thing I like about him.

After Zovaal is defeated we see the bridge between the Shadowlands and our world close, how are we meant to get back home?

We established 2 portals to our capitals the moment we set foot in Oribos.

And even if we didn't have those, every single covenant and more have the ability to enter Reality.
Kyrian do it all the time, that's how the Fae send their loa back and how Maldraxxi do their scouting missions, and if Denathrius could just banish the Dreadlords from Revendreth surely the current reigning Venthyr can do something similar.

Or, we could just ask a broker because those guys walk in and out of the phsyical universe all the time just cause they can.
In Tazavesh we straight up visit Azeroth.

To add to that, right after Bagina posted about making the logo, therewillbedragons replied to it to say they also faked their leak and just ran with it after getting incredibly lucky with the cross faction details.

Ehm no, not everyone could access TBC raiding. People could access some of it, or were forced to do all of it for attunement quests. It was a shit design, even worse than the current "only 2% of people kill a mythic endboss" dilemma.

And no, TBC lore is the worst lore today as they literally turned a bunch of anti-heroes/protagonists from warcraft III into villains for ... reasons? The lore was so bad that 90% of it got retconned with Legion and WoD and that was good haha.

And nope, Shadowlands is great. Haters gonna hate. People just dislike the setting or the lore or Covenants before they pulled the ripcord but that's ok. Contentwise atleast Shadowlands is great right now.

I'm completely with you here. I'm really struggling to understand where the hate is coming from. Everytime I chat someone that doesn't like the expansion, their arguments fall onto themselves.

What I gather is that this is just the expansion where people expect a lot more feelings to come out of it and a lot more epicness out the events that unfold.

They cry about the writing being shit but it's not, it's just not groundbreaking but it's always been either at this level (mop, legion, wrath) or way below (classic, bc, cata, wod, bfa). If anything this expansion expanded on a closed mythology and reopened doors to tell new stories with a feeling of unknown and thirst to understand the new forces and how they work together.

I like the whimsy of the ZM Leitmotif too. You can hear some musical foreshadowing of Anduin getting dominated in the Maw OST, there's definitely the presence of some of his theme but with the last note or two warped or key changed.

Yeah - sound, art, and raids are the main place they have little to no issues.

The new hero being Sojourn has been known since OW2 was announced. Also the pvp testing will start late april, not mid march.

I don't see why the enemies we fight should always be considered as villains. Sometimes we fight them because there is no other option, it doesn't necessarily mean that they are evil. The Horde and the Alliance fight all the time and yet none of these factions is villainous. It just so happens that Illidan, Kael and co. weren't playable faction, so they were destined to lose that conflict.

Problem being, we were fighting both the Burning Legion and the guys fighting against the Burning Legion. They just wanted some known faces to put in raids, and back then that meant they had to be the boss. What little story there was to justify a dungeon or raid, was an afterthought.

Nowadays at least they plan ahead. They don't do it well, and they abruptly change the course of the story, but they don't just throw Thrall away as boss only to realize that they kind of want him back for something else afterwards.

The bigger issue is that the TBC villain motivations outside Kil'jaeden didn't align with their prior personalities or actions at all.

Say what you want about the whitewashing of Illidan, outside of the bullshit Xe'ra was spewing and rightly died for, them reworking everything he did for the goal they retconned to in Legion aligned far more with the character we knew than him being a crazy and more importantly bland dictator.

Kael and Vashj in Shadowlands are both similarly constructed as giant hail Marys.

It's a toss-up. TBC depicts several characters the absolute worst possible way with tons of off screen alteration, BFA irreconcilably harms both factions and wastes a decade of buildup from N'Zoth, and SL has completely tone deaf understanding of what constitutes justice, fucks with the cosmology and existing beloved stories extensively, and spends waaay too much time with certain characters.

They're all good bad dogs stories, Brent.

The way I see it is that there are 2 main problems with Shadowlands that kinda bring it down.
One being that it's just not terribly interesting. Sylvanas is massively overplayed, and the Jailer is as generic a villain as they come. And while it's technically competent enough, this also means it loses out on the Trainwreck aspect that made BfA interesting.
Secondly are the long droughts and lack of a 9.2 midpoint patch. Meaning we end up with systems that get stretched far beyond their intended lifespan.

These two problems feed into eachother as well annoyingly. The story is kinda boring, but spend 6 months waiting and it becomes nigh-excrutiating. And with the story being boring and not interesting to follow you don't have much reason incentive to interract with it either in-game or on forums.

Why pity? Is better to be not hyped until 19 april so we cant get more disappointed with the real product.
