I agree that there was likely going to be a Drust/Ardenweald raid that got cancelled due to covid. That's why we got so many Tyrande cinematics in a content tier largely unrelated to her. But it's still not that complicated: The Ancient Drust worshipped by the Vrykul were just another of the groups the Jailer struck a bargain with. Just like the Troll Death God & that other Vrykul Death God.

And that is fine, it doesnt need to be anything insane.

But the Tyrande Night Warrior is a dead plotline and if you compare to the leak, there is some range of plot twist.

The muezala dead plotline which is basically introducing him and "killing" him in the same dungeon after pushing him in Legion and BFA

The true cursed knowledge isn't that SL has more content than WoD but that it has more endgame content than Cataclysm.

What is exactly this "endgame" ?

You only care about this leak because it's what you want to hear. The reality is... and this is an unfortunate reality... Blizzard just might have horrifically bad writers who intend to redeem Sylvanas and leave Tyrande to do nothing... sad but likely true. If anything, cut content probably affected the beginning of the expansion more (which is why I suspect a raid was cut and 9.2 was swapped with 9.1).

I know a lot of people hate on it recently (which is fine, you play what you like), but back when it came out it was seen as being the thing that single handedly revived the dungeon scene.

Yeah, there is raiding, and mythic plus, which WoD didn't have, plus a mega dungeon. As well as two end game zones instead of one. Weird hill to die on.

WoD had Challenge Mode (which are literally the m+ progenitor) maybe you never done those but those were a source of loot in WoD for a while, and the Coliseum.


Korthia and Zereth Mortis as endgame where you just fly around opening box is really endgame content? ok because Tanaa Jungle was the endgame zone and was boring in the same way.

I think it's important to remember that even if SL has more content, it's also just less general quality. Add to that all the scandals and the fact that it's simply not fun at all in terms of lore or questing (save for Revendreth, mostly, and admittedly for me a good chunk of the geometry theology since I already like Christian theology so this is familiar stuff to me).

From a pure content perspective, SL probably beats all expansions but MoP, Legion, and BFA. MoP is questionable due to the lack of M+ dungeons though.

Having even one (1) endgame zone for the end patch and having the raid consist of more than reused assets. It's a very lofty standard.

From a pure content perspective, SL probably beats all expansions but MoP, Legion, and BFA. MoP is questionable due to the lack of M+ dungeons though.

I'd argue both Wrath and TBC had more. SL is on the distinct lower tier in terms of pure content amount.

That's an argument that can be made regarding SL in comparison to say Legion or Mists (save Mists dungeons which were dross on a crusty roll) but not as regards Cataclysm. Cataclysm's end raid is hot garbage and its non-FL raids are mediocre.

I've actually been here since the WoD alpha hype... I think around the time some alpha gameplay of Frostfire was posted online by a Korean player, I think it was? Just didn't want to dig up my old account cause it's been a few years.

Shadowlands is goddamn stacked when it comes to endgame content, unique gear tints, mounts, and general stuff to do once you reach endgame.
Expansions generally have more stuff in them ever since Legion revitalized the open world, so saying SL has loads of endgame content just seems like stating the skyy is blue.
What would have been exceptional is if SL had very little endgame content.

Considering that the new dialog quests with Liadrin do not imply we were gone for a crazy amount of time, what Khadgar means is that he has read about the Shadowlands for a while, at least any time between when he had access to Medivh's library.

So you think Challenge Modes are great but Mythic Plus is horrible, and you think flying around Zereth Mortis and Korthia is somehow worse than Tanaan? Give actual explanations if you are going to make these claims.

as i said, running around opening boxes while flying isnt really endgame content but i guess that if you think doing WQ is endgame content it can works.

Found the leak I was thinking of.

I cannot post it due to being new, but there is a leak on MMO that is just titled 10.0 leak.

*9.2.5 pre-expansion event being put together is huge. Lots of reused events like earthquakes and invasions but also a massive Timewalking event that's being designed as a "mini-season-of-mastery" across lots of Azeroth centric dungeons and raids. Devs want players familiar with the history of Azeroth before 10.0, a “big tour” of old events and lore.*

Yeah I am gonna have to agree with that, if you removed the content droughts and had SL take place on Azeroth, I'd imagine quite a bit of people would hardly complain.

No one is claiming there was no endgame. Generally speaking players want new zones per patch, to explore, quest, loot and play around in, rather than sit in just the main continent for an entire expansion.
