Is it time for Azeroth to hatch? Wanna hear your thoughts.

Sure, but it has some pretty interesting implications for the setting.

Most people have considered Dragon Isles to be "One Zone Per Flight" but a sun themed kitty doesn't really fit that.

It would actually fit a Red Dragonflight forest zone pretty well, the cat itself is reminiscent of Alexstrasza to some extent.

Not only is that a good point, but it makes me realize they may reuse red trees from a Red Dragonflight zone for Quel'thalas.

Shadowlands' features trailer was pathetic. For 10.0 features trailer I am expecting at least the following points:

- New class.
- New race / class combos.
- New continent / revamped world + new zones.
- New talent system / progression system.
- New (something related to proffesions).
- New side system (secondary activity like Pet Battle System).
- New Torghast like dungeon / new type of dungeon.

That is for the trailer but I expect huge changes across the board. An expansion as good as Legion will not save the game in the long-term if WoW is not simpler and easier to start on as a new player.

That would make me really reaaaaaally happy.

Conversation Shift:

Aside from the Setting (we've been discussing this one forever), what would you like to see in the Cinematic trailer?

Wrathion gives a speech, cinematic starts out with showcasing each Aspect and Dragonflight, eventually we get a shot of Wyrmrest or Blackrock and the cinematic starts to mirror cataclysms.
Wrathion, in Dragon form, pops up from Behind whatever structure is being showcased and flies around the world.
Eventually reaches the Dragon Isles and lands in a similar way as Deathwing did in Stormwind, he contrasts Deathwing by giving a one liner about renewal and the camera shifts to the Dragon isles and showcases a bunch of (hopefully floating) Isles with a ton of Dragons flying about.

Basically Cataclysm but *happy* with a Pandaria twist at the end.

Again, take those clues and add them to BFA's Dragon clues;

+Wrathion's return
+Dragon Isles mentioned for first time in lore

+Uncorrupted Voidwing Mount (Void Dragon)

And that's why people think something based on dragons is next.

I think the Cat and Phoenix mounts were the hints. They came out about the right time to be recolored new assets.

Especially when you add in the whisper and the recent focus on the eternal sun

Those 2, including the faery dragon pet and celestial mog (emerald drake), are the reason why i think Life is gonna be a major theme alongside dragons.
They are too Lunar/Solar themed for it not to be, if we take them as direct hints.

After what is being datamined in 9.2.5, alongside previous hints, I'm not expecting to see Dragon Isles as the major plot, yet I can still see it as a patch or a couple of zones.

Ya, they seem to be pointing at something night/day themed to me, possibly Elfy. I think Elune being a robot is going to be a big deal, but if not, we will still have the Night Else getting their new home.

Also, the Phoenix has a red color waiting to be released somehow, that goes with our blue one, I believe according to Wowhead.

And let's not forget the description for the phoenix: "These brilliant blue birds burn brighter (and hotter) than their orange cousins, though the origin of both remains a mystery.". Meaning, we're in still in the "sun/warm/fire" theme, similar to the Furline mount.

Do you have a link to why that is a fact?

Because from what I remember, Ion just talked about how they acknowledge that cosmic conflicts and stories should also bear some beats on our ground to make them more interesting and that they will more appropriately address this next time. I don't recall him roght out delivering the news that next expansion would be on Azeroth soil.

Crazy idea but with the needless mixing of themes we saw e.g. in BfA how about a Dragon Isles AND Underground expansion that let's us constantly look at Azeroth since we've pretty much been badly babysitting (to criminal negligence) for nearly two decades now.

Imagine the planet being HOLLOW. We get a large space inside the planet that is illuminated by the World Soul (because we need to get a selfie with the unborn planet goddess). The Dragon Isles would then be a number (I mean sure, probably five) islands floating in the large spherical empty space. They are still islands. Flying islands. Underground flying islands (the best kind).

unless I'm misremembering, Grove Warden was initially a store mount, and people got really, really mad since WoD had a fuckton of recolored mounts and nothing really special from raids. The previous three or so store mounts being WoD mobs and taxies really soured people enough that Blizzard put it on Archimonde.

If I recall, it was datamined and, since it didn’t have an obvious source like other dropped mounts, people assumed that it was a store mount. Then they overreacted. And patted themselves on the back for getting this “changed” when the source was revealed.

Genuine question when talking about Dragon hints, what expansion hasn't had Dragon hints? Even in WoD we hade the Time Lost Proto Drake and Wrathion showing up relating to the legendary questline (what I can remember off the top of my head). I hope we get them and there are out of place things in SL for them (not counting exile's reach) but dragons are a part of wow base lore and they pop up every expansion

Not just yet. Even though it was supposed to take place in early BfA canonically.

I was hoping for it to be teasing infinite dragonflight stuff but we've yet to see it.
Interested how they'll actually have the infinite dragonflight be created, now that the last old god is dead. (Unless Nozdormu has just been bottling everything up and just decides to crack next xpac)

Every expansion pointed to various themes. Of course, when a new expansion is announced or something is datamined, is easier to identify those clues, but that does not invalidate the rest.

Plus they always had villains or loose ends from Warcraft 3. But not now.

When Ion announced Shadowlands he even joked about what loose ends were left: the Lich King, Bolvar. But now? It could truly be anything.

I know that we still have villains out there, the Light, the Void, etc. We know that the expansion will be on Azeroth (if for some reason that is not the case they are out of their minds), so honestly its the perfect chance for a world revamp, now that, as they say themselves, a new Warcraft chapter is beginning.

With a world revamp they can plant seeds for the influence of the 6 cosmic forces on Azeroth. I recall an interview at the end of BfA, I think that it was Danuser saying that now that all the Old Gods are (presumably) out of the picture, other forces will focus on our planet; and giving that clearly Azeroth its something special, all of them will want a piece of the cake:

- Yrel and the Naaru representing Light.
- Xal'athat and Azshara representing Void.
- The Dragons and Elune Life.
- The Titans could come back at any time representing Order.
- With the Titans could come back a different Sargeras representing Chaos.
- Denathrius is still out there and could have fled to Azeroth representing Death. Plus we do not know if the Primus is in our side yet.

The seeds of all these characters could grow through several expansions, it does not matter if they are presented at the same time or staggered. They could even apply the Covenant system to the 6 cosmic forces, and make it a system that last for several expansions.

Didn't Wrathion get cut from WoD? Like we know he was involved and we talked to people who saw or interacted with him, but we never actually saw him ourselves. And he got cut from Legion too with only a few of his followers showing up or something.

Wrathion was involved in a questline in the Arakkoa zone if I recall correctly, he is mentioned in the journal of Admiral Taylor. Plus he could be seen in Khadghar's tower in 6.2. Also he worked with Kairoz to send Garrosh to Draenor. But yes, for sure he was more involved but they cut it, as in Legion, where if my memory serves me right he had a questline in Higmountain that did not make the cut.
