I'm wondering if they pick their plan back up either during 9.2.5 or the pre-patch. Of course I'm not excluding dragons from being part or a major player in the next expansion. I think that the next expansion might focus on recovery and rebuilding while dealing with zone specific conflicts.
Tirisfal's story didn't end, it just got put on pause like everything on Azeroth for two IRL years while devs completed revampy stuff.

The amount of people that think stuff like the Scarlets or Dragons got "dropped" blows my mind because its obvious that in some respects Shadowlands is story filler. They didn't even allow for heritage quests showing what was going on in Azeroth.

I meant it ends for that expansion. :P

Uh no, you're objectively wrong. It was datamined, not just it's model, but it's entry, and it's source. We can actually tell when items are added to the database if they're acquired from the Cash shop or not, as well as back end for store delivery. It was 100% intended to be a cash shop mount.

The outrage only came when, during the trailer for Legion, you can see the model as a mob in one of the zone previews.

Devs even responded to the outrage, and the feedback was the reason it was changed.

Maybe you should actually make sure you're informed on what you're fucking talking about before mouthing off.

I mean I'd expect them to at least have the promotional demo they usually have playable at the event after the announcement

Well, I'm not one of those people, though in hindsight it is obvious to me now that Shadowlands is filler despite the damage it did. I truly hope we do get something of a revamp, especially Lordaeron as it is one of my favorite places in game. I've always thought it was odd that it was odd that all the Scarlet stuff has been in the file since 8.1 and never removed, yet people assumed it was nothing.

I've been thinking about the demo, too. How/will it still happen? No Blizzcon/LIVE event, so will any/all players get/have access to it?

They definitely have the tech to do that, but datamining would be a HUGE problem unless they put a LOT of work into making sure it's a clean build or they finally applied the Overwatch way of encrypting everything by default.

(I would love a dirty build though, love seeing in-dev stuff!)

Probably no demo, but giving that they should have presented the expansion a month ago during Blizzcon, and giving that 10.0 will (probably and hopefully) have a shitload of system and class changes, they might start the beta really soon after april 19th.

I'm hopeful they're pretty far with 10.0 art wise.

Zereth Mortis/Sepulcher had very little work done (only cleanup/additions of rocks around the raid entrance and insider the raid) when it hit PTR with only systems (e.g. Cypher stuff) undergoing major changes. Arguably the best way as those matter the most to gameplay and as such will receive the most feedback/need the most iteration.

Would they even take feedback on art? Unless it's just a checkered cube or broken I can't imagine that's something they do.

That is why I think we are getting a beta really soon. With the Council and Blizzard's effort to improve their relations with the community, it will make sense that they start listening to beta feedback ASAP.

Both things will help to sell more copies of the expansion, but what matters is that they change and evolve game systems or WoW as we know it will die. So no, I do not think that is necessary, although I welcome both and I think that we will get a new class; or classes and specs will get so changed that they will feel like new classes.

The Ruined Crest of Lordaeron could have been considered them changing after feedback to Art.

Korthia also had very little new assets with Sanctum being worked on at launch. The fact that Korthia is so small and ZM is pretty compact makes me think the art team worked elsewhere pretty quickly.

AKA you don't want playable Tuskarr despite there being no real reason against it.

yeah no, i hope its fake, "races reconnecting with each other" is the most bullshit thing i ever seen in warcraft recently, i never play wow again if they make this shit.

Imagine the dwarves helping taurens - one of the native races of azeroth who didn't had any titan influence - to find their titan origin, after invading their lands, killing then to dig for titan relics and bombing to hell one of their tribes into oblivions, yeah fuck no thank you.

And the nre race options is just dumb, why a new cat people when you have saberon?

Saberon and botani after the maghar scenario are perfect races to join both alliance and horde.

They could do what they did for the classic wow thing where you could play the demo at home.

Two new races - Elarian and the Solline - they are very pale alien looking people and cat people who worship the sun
Yeah, I'm going to say no.

The leak is entirely based around the phoenix and the cat representing sun and moon. I think it's likely An'she and Elune will play a part in the next expansion if it's Life focused, but asspulling two OC races based on that idea is silly.
