We can have plenty of conflicts, we do every expansion. It just will be a smaller and not out and out war.
Probably.
Also got to wondering if maybe this (the dialogue between Genn and Lor'themar) is foreshadowing for Genn and Turalyon. Maybe a stretch to call them friends but they have some history together at least.
So now we have confirmation of another racial storyline: Humans retaking old settlements under Turalyon. Court of Nobles will likely be propped up as a faction to give them some flavor, as Turalyon mentions them when you talk to him (and now we know him sitting on the throne is important).
I think we have a solid storyline for every EK/Kalimdor race right now except for Trolls, Orcs and Tauren. Forsaken is obvious and Belves are defending QT.
Draenei... something something Yrel.

I'd say for the Lightforged Draenei, they're at least already in service to Turalyon. It could also mean that the Draenei as a whole end up helping the Humans and they share a questline, at least up until halfway through where it can split between a down-to-earth war story for the Humans and an expedition to Draenor for the Lightforged and Draenei.
We could get the Dragon Isles as floating just northwest of Lordaeron (and never found because they were floating above the cloud line) together with a Lordaeron revamp that offers a secondary campaign that becomes the main story later in the expansion.
And really Lordaeron is not just about Light or Faction War. It can be about the Void with the presence of Zakasj and even possibly Kithix (who would definitely make sense as the force that taught Malacrass how to make use of the Amani loa). It can be about rebuilding and the history of both the Seven Kingdoms+Quel'thalas (which is of interest to both factions) with the Forsaken as a part of it that is actually involved (per compromise with the Alliance due to Calia). Heck it could even be about the Scourge; for all of Shadowlands being the land of death, we did not really fight much of a Scourge there. Maldraxxus was not really a central part of the story (probably the least of all Covenants what with Revendreth having a raid and Ardenweald being central to the story while Bastion's main characters featuring heavily throughout the xpac). They could even tie any undead presence to Galakrond if they bring him back.
But I do think the fact that they are featuring Tirisfal and Quel'thalas with slight but not significant revamps as an argument against a revamp in general. If they were going to do a revamp, why not use more assets from it?
Earlier in the thread I suggested the Dragon Isles actually floating INSIDE Azeroth, making at least the center of the planet hollow with the World Soul as the source of Light. Could just make it accessible from somewhere in Lordaeron.

I think they will tie the regular Draenei to the Nelves and let Genn and the Worgen do their own thing in the EK. They haven't touched on the Nelf/Draenei friendship in a while and Genn will have more to do with the Forsaken and Turalyon squabbles in EK.
Remember someone is sending a letter to Genn, and it's probably not Anduin as they spoke.

Agreed. I think this would be a very good time to return to their original WarCraft III incarnations. Turalyon is a very good option to have a dubious leader who isn't evil, I think. He's not evil, but he's definitely someone who is going to start a few wars.
Also, given who this is a response to, obligatory "do not engage."

The Horde also has massively changed. Unlike the Alliance were most of the Allied Races are very minor players, the Horde got two superpowers with extremely advanced civilizations in the form of Zandalar and Nightborne. It would just feel very weird to make them feel like struggling survivors at this point (and it does requires that the story of some of the races move forward; perhaps with the Darkspear getting a proper home and the Tauren actually being depicted as much more successful).

What was @PhillyCheese banned for?
