There's nothing wrong with speculation and discussion. Hell, I welcome fan concept expansions especially if they flag them as such and put a lot of detail into them. I just hate the fact that it all gets so flooded under the guise of legitimacy. It drives something normally fun into the fucking ground.

The "no fun allowed" sign on my lawn is allowed to be ignored. I just...don't get it at this point.

Ultimate's announcement was followed by almost daily fake leaks, sometimes several a day depending on where you were.
I remember the Brawl days so very vividly. I remember everyone insisting the real leak was fake simply because it disappointed them. I remember the Smashboards poll having like 75% of the vote insisting they expect 80-90 characters and death threats if you disagreed, a metric only approached after 2 installments and many waves of DLC later.

Fans can be the fucking worst.

I think its mostly fun. There's usually some pretty creative leaks at least.

I think the issues you had this season were streamers covering it so it caused more low quality "leaks" and felt overall spammy. There also hasn't been much to go on so people feel the need to create new leaks everytime something new pops up on the PTR and people think it automatically has to be connected to the next expansion.

Snipping the rest, but if we ever land in a world where factions allow multiple races then Worgen could be allowed in the Nelf faction. If it wasn't for Genn essentially being Anduin's surrogate father Worgen would be way more Nelf-oriented IMO.

That is a fair assessment. If anything we can always rely on the lowest common denominator of content creators to help drive something into the ground more than the community hoi polloi.

I'm usually against any form of spoilers, I hate getting my party crashed. But I have to admit that some of these leaks are hilarious, and it's always fun coming back a few months after the announcement and find out which one was real.

I agree with you in a sense that at least the leaks should be focused in this thread and not all over the forum. I mean the previous few expansions were initially leaked here (bar SL which I dont know where first the promo material leaked).

The WC3 faction contained more than just Night elves. If you ask me, it would be comprised of Night elves, Worgen, Sylvar and, perhaps, Pandaren.

If the game were actually true to WCIII lore, there would be six factions:
    - Alliance
    - Horde
    - Night Elves
    - Undead
    - Illidari
    - Legion

Granted back then Illidari were pretty much (I pretend to serve the Legion but really don't) and Undead were in a sort of civil war between Sylvanas and Arthas. but you get the idea. And of course Blood Elves were Illidari.
The Illiari aren't a faction in WC3. Demon hunters were part of the Night elf faction.
The Legion wasn't a faction either, but a mix of Dreadlords belonging to the Scourge, pitlords being neutral, Eredar, felhunters and felguards.
The only other faction was Naga.

Leaks are what bring out the authoritarian in me. I'd be banning left and right.

If not for the new HS expansion looking genuinely good I probably would have skipped out of this leak season entirely. Between how bad SL was, how good Endwalker was, the scandal and how it was communicated, my faith in Blizzard was at an all-time low. But now I'm kinda interested how they attempt to crawl back out of the dump.

Well Anduin or no, the Worgen seem much more loyal to the Night Elves than stormwind. The Battle for Darkshore also showed as much. So they could make up one faction.

The Alliance would be everyone else. on the Alliance

Illidari would be Blood Elves and naga

The rest are pretty self explanatory.

Seriously. At the very least you get a quarantine going.

Speaking of, we don't even have a spreadsheet this time do we? There's literally too many. A well made bingo card would only fit maybe 20% of the possibilities.

I think this is the first time since Mists -> WoD pre-Scrolls of Lore leak that there's so much uncertainty. Every other expac had wildly public and obvious leaks (Blood Elves in an early released gaming magazine, Velen painting at the E3 stage, Northrend herbs in game files flagged expansion02, Leipzig Gaming Convention listing Wrath early, the massive Cata leak months in advance, Mists trademark...) or a clear next step (Gul'dan fuckery, Sargeras sword, Sylvanas farting away).

At BEST we have the Tirisfal encryptions but that can literally just be allied race content. Turalyon mention isn't anything new because it's just a reinforcement of the status quo.

Best thing, possibly the only good thing to come out of this. Your logo was <3.

We have the LivingWorld strings and the stables stuff.

If they introduce a class (Tinker obv), they should allow it to become available with a prepurchase in 9.2.5 so people can have their new class (Tinkers obv) leveled up in time and find out if htey want to main them for the next expansion, also allow them a chance to tune them a bit if needed in some older content.

Hey, forgot about the stables. Housing sign?! Probably not.

LivingWorld is so up in the air. I still think it's internal for environmental flags. But yeah it's something, especially accompanied by a likely CE mount associated with life.

Yeah but that is vague. What would LivingWorld be? A revamp of a less cataclysmic Azeroth. Or a Living world like in Guild Wars 2 which is basically the main story there?

For classes at earliest I see it being prepatch like Legion.

For races it can swing either way depending if they are a new race or established in lore.

For ARs again same, depenind if they are related to current or next expansion (Like how in Legion we got 4 with prepurchase, but Zandalari were left for later)

Classes require so much work, the earliest we'd get them is pre-patch.

They've shown extensively they've improved their pipeline in adding races, they could easily potentially add any upcoming races early if wanted, depending on how much work is required and how much work is done.

Or they could add clas skins wich require no tuning or getting used to.
