So did every other expansion. I fail to see a significant difference here.

I can't help but feel sad for you if you genuinely feel that every expansion was a waste of your time. With the exception of Cata, WoD, 70% of BfA, and SL, I've enjoyed every other expansion (especially Legion and MoP) and I don't think time spent enjoying something is time wasted.

I disagree with the slime saber being a dark ranger mount, but it being encrypted along with Tirisfal is a bit sus.

Someone posted this in another thread. Even if it's april fools, and I don't believe the slime saber part (the mount is coming but why would it be a dark ranger mount?) I think this is exactly what's going to happen regarding the Darkfallen.

I could see something like this happening, but I find it hard to believe that they would add in Darkfallen, have them be led by two Dark Rangers....and not add in Dark Rangers.

Their hunters would be dark rangers though. The class was never going to happen outside of a one-spec class or a radical reimagination, and then at that point would they still be dark rangers?

Radical reimagination of what? A WCIII unit with 3 abilities? There is enough wiggle room.

If they struggled with Demon Hunter specs then I can only imagine how difficult it would be to do more than one for Dark Ranger.

They are opening the door for more variety in classes by linking the DR's to San'layn, but don't seem to be making the class itself more varied.

Every video game does. Wasting time isn't necessarily something bad, though. People today are way to obsessed with efficiency.

If they struggled with Demon Hunter specs then I can only imagine how difficult it would be to do more than one for Dark Ranger.

I don't think the struggle was about coming up with abilities. It was more about "does it really need more than one tank/melee spec?"

The note about the AR flags is funny, it always bothered me that the embassies are obviously missing a flag.

It would make sense if Darkfallen are the last AR to complete the set, and then every race afterwards is a regular new race and not an AR. I don't think we're missing any more subrace-type races.

Yes, Jinyu use old animations for example, but they could easily be retweaked into using all new animations. And Dragonkin would clearly be a regular race.

At any rate I have a huge vampire fetish, so if we get Darkfallen I will gladly take it. It's just odd cause you know, the Dark Ranger name has been in game way longer than Darkfallen. It is more marketable I feel. That's all I'm saying.

I just feel it is the opposite of the Velf thing. With velves they took a desire (Alliance Blood Elves/OG High Elves) and did a monkeys paw thing by making a unique race to try and keep the racial aesthetics separate. But with Darkfallen it kind of... opens up more lore for them? Instead of it being pigeonholed into Dark Rangers, undead elves can do a lot of different things and have more cultures like Sylvanas's rangers, the San'layn and now the heavily traumatized Nelves.

It feels more like an expansion than a reduction.

Basically this. For most classes, 3 specs make sense, but I can't really think of a third spec for DH that wouldn't feel like it was shoehorned in just for the sake of having 3 specs.

Also, Tirisfal wouldn't be a starting zone, more likely it's just the questline to unlock them. As ARs do start in their own racial hub.

I do wonder what the unlock requirements/racial hub would be.

All three have super unique animation rigs so it makes sense they would get passed up on.

I kind of figured this Darkfallen thing would count for the Forsaken, if true. But yes. Though I wouldn't say they're all that unique rigs, we've seen them get used in countless places for other creatures/races/npcs.
