Even if she did give up reincarnation I don't really see why she couldn't just leave the Shadowlands normally, so really it might be a bit of a moot point.

Yeah, at the end of the day I simply don't see a green dragon storyline taking place without Ysera and if fucking Salandria can zip to and back to the Shadowlands then Ysera definitely can.

The Belf quest shows that Blizz, to the dismay of the entire lore forums, does not intend to ignore SL after this expansion is over. Nothing is stopping Ysera from being a big part of the next story but why not have her stay?

Speaking of easily leaving and re-entering the Shadowlands.
You know what I have realized annoys me the most? The fact that the Brokers are firmly established as being able to leave the Shadowlands to trade easily, so the whole Shadowlands version of Ethereals thing is entirely moot. We could have just as easily have had Ethereals and the story wouldn't have changed at all.

I think BFA made it pretty clear that the entire original Aspect pantheon is getting replaced aside from maybe Alex. Noz is going to go crazy and Chromie is the obvious pick, Merithra is set up in BFA, Kalec and Wrathion are old stories.

Alex will likely stay as the token old mentor because
A) sexy mommy memes
B) the red flight is the most boring and needs more lore before they get into choosing a new leader
C) she has a problematic past and replacing her instead of making her hero character would raise a stink. she was already pretty cool in BFA and Heroes already gave her a redesign

I really want to see Rheastrasza's child that survived when Deathwing killed her eggs. Should be same age as Wrathion. One of the items I still carry in my bank. They could groom that kid to take over.

In case someone cares, here are my current (somewhat tinfoily) hunches/predictions for 10.0 (subject to change based on datamining):

• We are going to the Dragon Isles in 10.0, but it's not what you would expect. I think it's more than just a hidden island like Pandaria. Seems more likely to me that it's another plane of existence on Azeroth.
• There's a big focus on the Green dragonflight in particular.
• Themes of life and healing (to contrast the grimness of Shadowlands). This whole expansion is basically the "Life" chapter of the cosmic orders, but it works out well because Life is probably the least sci-fi of all the cosmic forces.
• Elune is a dragon.
• Lots of old/neglected dragon characters like Sabellian are returning for this expansion to wrap up loose dragon-related story threads.
• There will be some revamped zones, but not the whole world. They want to contrast the "destruction revamp" of a prior dragon-themed expansion (Cata) with a "healing revamp" where we see zones change for the better instead of getting worse.
• Dragonsworn is the new class. I imagine they would probably wear Mail and use Polearms, but that's just a hunch.
• End-game system will be themed around which dragonflight you "pledge" yourself to.
• Anduin will be sitting this expansion out.
• Turalyon gets more character development (and a model that isn't wearing his ridiculous space suit hopefully).

I agree with a lot of this, except for a few:

-Doubt Elune is a dragon, but she probably made them.

-Red will be the focus as it has little to no lore and it will probably get a lot of new lore as to how it works and how it’s tied to Life. Also to put Alex as the main dragon. The focus will still overall be Life and we’ll probably meet Elune and An’she in patches.

-Dragon Isles are probably actually islands, but flying. Could be scattered around the world too similar to the new zones in Cata.

-Aspects being the new covenants is a v popular guess but I think it is too easy. I think if there is a dragon race or class that will be how you choose, but otherwise I’m expecting something a little different than Aspect = Covenant

Also, unironically expecting Tel’abim to be one of the Dragon Isles. And if we’re getting a race it will be Drakonids as they have a newly created female form in Hearthstone.

I'm mainly basing my hunch on the datamined Green dragon mount. And I guess the Green Hawkstrider. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but it feels like there's a lot of green on the horizon, although that could just be hinting at life and healing as the expansion theme in general.

Man.. my Bearded Dragon is 13 years old now after this past autumn, and I'm almost dreading a Dragon Isles theme even though I want it, because then chances are my sweet girl is likely to expire during the Dragon expansion- oof.. Blizz, your timing would be a gutpunch. (or before 10.0 during Shadowlands, which is fitting too I guess. At least she'll see the announcement lmfao)
(Not exactly an advocate of keeping lizards in captivity today, as I was 10y/o when I got her. I guess someone's gotta love and give them homes at the end of the day though.)

Named her Mojo, after the items that dropped off of Drakkari Trolls (and others) during Wrath.

During BfA they added these Saurolisks and I have her on my Troll Hunter now :')

I agree with your last point, I think that the deluxe edition is Green Drake because it’s the closest aesthetically to a Rebirth Dragon, and if this next expansion is Reverse Cataclysm (which is likely) it fits the best. Also because Green Drakes are far more nostalgic to WoW players than the reds.

Light and Void will probably be set up during Reverse Cataclysm, especially if there is a revamp of leveling. Lots of places where those themes can pop up.

Turalyon alone is a big hint.

Maybe the Dragon Isles have been shoved into another realm/dimension ala HoV (into the ED/Lifelands/its own pocket) and for reasons yet to be revealed will appear back on Azeroth again, like how the elemental planes manifested on Azeroth but this time fully.

Im kind of expecting, assuming it is a Dragon expansion, to see a return of class halls as the covenants with each tied to a specific flight.

For instance Rogues would be Black Dragons
Druids green
Mages blue
Etc etc

Would have to have multiple classes per flight though in order to work, so I guess it would work like this:

Green: Druid, Hunter, Monk(?)
Blue: Mages, Demon Hunter(?)
Black: Rogue, Death Knight, Warlock
Bronze: Priest, Paladin (light magic to heal or bring people back to life so it works like "time travel" in a way)
Red: Warrior, Shaman (I don't really know which classes fit the red dragon flight the best).

So I guess it would work something like this maybe.
