If they wanted to bring back an old-school capital, they should revamp Shattrath and give it some jetpacks so it can fly to the Dragon Isles. Only half-joking as a revamped Shattrath could actually be kind of cool.

I wouldn't mind Dalaran for a third time since I loved Legion so much that it would probably trick my brain into thinking the expansion is good just because it has the same capital city. But in all seriousness... I want something new.

Yoi know what would be neat? Just having Stormwing and Orgrimmar as the expansion hub again. No hub is ever realistically going to be as important as those two, and making it critical to an expansion gives them an excuse to really fill out the blank spaces and bring it up to speed.

Maybe the Stormwind vault becomes something similar to the Warlock area in Orgrimmar, or even an underground market.
Or maybe Orgrimmar gets more life into it, with better residential districts and such making it feel more like a city and not a slightly bigger outpost.

Someone datamined what seems to be a pre-order string in the launcher that refers to something called Dragonflight.
The preorder specifically having the same tiers as SL did, and obviously being in the same general area.

It's plausible that Dalaran or the Dragon Isles themselves appear in the sky above Arathi (the zone which had shenanigans with its skybox). If it's the case, I would say Dalaran like we had it moving to Deadwind Pass pre-Legion.

To answer you regarding the Shaman class skin: dragons come from proto-dragons which themselves are descended from elementals. Here is your missing link!

If I have to match 1 class skin to 1 class, and of course assuming Blizzard doesn't want to introduce 13th class in the future, I would pick Tinker for Shaman. Mail, melee/ranged/heal spec, totems could be changed for turrets, ghost wolf for some transport suit, etc..

Of course I have "screw lore" approach that is necessary if you want introduce more interesting choices like Tinker, Necromancer or Dragonsomething. If would be like dual class, potential future class quest would be available only if you are in "right" skin, they could also add new quest for Exile's Reach and bridge quest for Legion that give you weapon and send to zone (if you level in skin).

Don't get me wrong, yesterday before the leak came out I was literally talking about how amazing a Chronomancer-esque healing spec would be.

I just don't want it to be a separate class.

Thematically, I think it would work quite well to bring Dalaran back, with the 'return' of the dragonflights. It would be similar to wotlk.
It would be a bit lazy, but I love Dalaran so I don't care. And we saw Dadgar so I hope we see him again.

As much as I'm irritated by Tinker discussions, making it a shaman skin would make a lot of sense. They deploy totems, emhance their weapons, shapeshit and equip shields. Mechanically it could support tinkers. We already have technologically minded goblins as shaman. Tinker could be a sort of literal deus ex machina with elementals instead of gods.

Elementally powered machinery. This reminds me of the Bathouse concept I came up for an eventual revamp.

It could be that as part of a revamp, Dalaran moves back to where it originally were. The city state of Dalaran after all does have a claim to some of the surrounding territory (notably Ambermill).

I would NOT want Dalaran to be the capital again. I WOULD want a revamp to treat any cities as actual questing areas. Suramar was one of the best questing experiences and much of the questing was within Suramar itself. A grounded Dalaran could be expanded to have a port area. And if they actually did a revamp that really reworked the area, including zone borders, Ambermill could end up absorbed into the city proper; Silverpine could be split into the adjoining zones with the area up to RFK going into Gilneas (it historically is part of Gilneas), the Ambermill area becoming part of Dalaran and the rest of the zone joining with Tirisfal and perhaps actually utilizing the Lordamere.

Yes it is an unusual set of coincidences if it is not legit. Micro classes are the new Allied Races it looks like.

I wouldn't actually mind that too much. They definitely have the tools at their disposal to give older cities the kind of make-over that makes them feel like completely new capitals. And there isn't a much clearer way of saying "okay, we hear you, you want to go back to Azeroth" than giving these two cities some love.

Orgrimmar also has a bunch of underground areas in the canon (as shown in Siege of Orgrimmar) that could be repurposed into areas we can actually walk into. Just hopefully not through Ragefire Chasm...
