Jericho21... I think that was teh dude who said there were true things in it and not, so I was mostly trying to see what was similar in Dragonflight and Ashes to see if we could make connections.

Not as much as you might think.


Namely, gearing alt jobs is a nightmare as it requires you to get the WEEKLY drops on every single one, and for the melees alone, there are THREE different sets for them. Not to mention EVERY job requires currency gear which is super hard to come by and is never unlocked.


This is not even to get into the logistics of lugging around all those gear sets and the fact that there (currently) aren't enough transmog slots to have a transmog for every job.


At least in current WoW, you aren't timegated with gear (mostly) and can spam M+ to get 265+ ilvl easy.

I'm a legacy player in FFXIV the gearing is quite well done, yes its the same every patch but I can choose what I want to gear quite easily and spend the time on it.

This. I'm looking forward to April 19th now, and if the leak is true I'll be super happy as the micro classes, the class skins, more order hall content aswell as housing sounds super awesome and game saving.

Also that Dave guy was super gringe to read, and if his posts are true well that's the opposite of the other leak - it would kill the game kekW.

Class Halls, Class Skins and Housing are potentially game saving.

Micro classes are a massive, massive risk.

More believable than that Dave guy, that's for sure.

Well he had the damning tell that he never really said anything about the next expansion expect how he enjoyed WoW and thought he would enjoy 10.0. Or asking what players favorite thing about SL was.

In short, he never really did anything that could violate an NDA, and when his cover was seemingly blown he disappeared, likely to prevent anone from using his potential employee status against him.

Yeah, but that name is just so weird and random. Dragonflight? It just makes zero sense unless all of the Dragonflights unite in one single Dragonflight and that’s where the name comes from (Empire of Dragons, hello).

Outside of that the singular in this case just doesn’t make any sense. There are 5 + X Dragonflights, why would they name it with the singular form?

That was my thought as well, the lack of a plural form bugs me out

Considering all the dragons were de-powered, I would assume the idea of a dragon xpac would be to start a NEW dragonflight and help power it up to defend Azeroth. We go on quests to gather resources to donate to the new flight, run raids to help carve out a niche for it, etc.

I mean, the name would make sense with context. Dragonflight, to me anyway, depicts an event.

I.E. The dragons taking flight back to their homeland, the dragon Isles.

Would you all like to see a new type of dragonflight become an Aspect or something like that? Usually new dragonflights are villians but I'd like to see a new flight become part of the current Aspect/flights.

My big tinfoil theory right now is that Elune is a dragon herself, the leader of a new dragonflight that's white (which is what you get when you mix all other colors of light), and the one who created the dragonflights.

I also think Galakrond may have been her consort in times of yore and that the black dragonflight actually descended from Galakrond instead of Elune.

The dragons also came from the Moon. Yep. Yes.

Not outright Dev LARPers I find. They have that unpleasant stink about them of someone trying to force their way into the limelight.

If Catastrophy was a LARPer then he at least did a damn fine job of ensuring people wanted to talk to him for reasons other than them wanting to extract leaks from him.

I still think we're going to get a big Vrykul presence on the Dragon Isles. They've already been established as Dragon hunters and tamers in WotLK.

Give us a big Vrykul, draconian, Nordic inspired raid as our opening raid please.

I still think a system were we could level one (or more) extra class (minus dh/dk for lore reasons) and/or micro class on a single character similiar to FFXIV could work against the risk. With that no leveling in 10.0 would also make sense as the new leveling content would be for your new class instead.

Alternatively, I'm not sure if it's possible but imagine if Blizzard would remove details / logging and build encounters more around playing mechanics than doing dmg checks - in which case class balancing as we know it now won't matter that much anymore, atleast for PvE. Well, I guess that would be a huge risk as it would piss off any players who just play to get their logs.
