Only thing im interesting in this dragonflight expansion is dragon mounts and transmogs
There's a lot about a dragon expansion that can be interesting but it all depends on the execution I suppose. Zones in particular are something I feel they can do wonders with in an expansion like this, so I hope they deliver on that front especially (and they usually do).
And please, please let the story/lore be good this time around. I can't take another expansion that tries to mangle 20 years of WC lore in front of my eyes.
So, we are going to ally dragons to defeat a dragon by transforming into a dragon, while mounting a dragon and wielding a dragon lance?
I know it's not everyone's thing, but I wonder if they will continue adding races via the Allied Race route or if they'll do it more traditionally, like Blood Elves. I'm guessing Allied Races will be here to stay since newer full races like Worgen and Goblins don't really have their own cities either.
Personally, I hope we get a few this expansion. If we get Vrykul, I don't expect Ogres anytime soon after that and vice-versa, since they're both big humanoids. I wouldn't mind a dragon-like race similar to the Dragonborn from DnD. Something a bit less bulky compared to the current dragonoids.
Can someone tldr what happened past last 40 pages?
If they do not fire Danuser and hire better writers the story will continue to be garbage, don't put your hopes up, i expect it to be worse than shadowlands, so if its on the same level or above i don't get disappointed.
Thus, the only thing that i care about are collections, the art team still do the job well and dragon thematic items are always good.

Dragonflight is the name, and a key piece of art relating to it has likely been released alongside the logo. There is also an older leak with the same name predating the "official" leak of questionable validity given its absurd claims.
Chromatus is a likely villain for a dragon themed expansion, but his questionably dead status makes it an open question whether it's semantically correct to want to revive or ressurect him.
And someone has been possibly ousted as a genuine developer, even as someone else desperately tries to pretend he is also one.
The world revamp dream will never die!
They'll definitely add Ethereals to the Alliance side in the inevitable Void Lords expansion, since the Ren'dorei share an affinity with the Ethereals due to their common background and Locus-Walker, a famous Void Walker, is the teacher of Alleria Windrunner.
Let's hold down our expectations a bit. If they really go knee-deep into a Dragon expansion, we'll be going through dumb filler expansion loops to satisfy the "grounded story" Andies. That's what happened with the Cata-MoP-WoD saga until we got Legion.
To me, Zovaal saying "a cosmos united cannot withstand what is to come" doesn't connect to a grounded Dragon expansion as the follow-up step. It reeks of filler, just like MoP had that Legion hologram that led to WoD before we could finally get into Legion.
I want to see the story implications of Void lore as much as you do, but I'm afraid they'll shelve all the interesting elements to get back to "basic adventure" mode. All of what I'm saying could end up being wrong, however, I do recommend to everyone interested in cosmic lore to take everything with a grain of salt at this point.
Theoretically you're right, but when we look at BfA, we see an expansion that mixes both Grounded and Cosmic elements. We have literally a generic human kingdom but we also have a giant Satanic sword sticking out of the planet's crust and an Old God coming back.
I'm confident that the Cosmic aspect will still be featured in some way in Dragon Isles, and what better way to do so, than to involve Xal'atath? She's iconic, she's beloved, and now that she looks like a Void elf, she has a good design.

"Filler" expansions are fine and IMO much needed. WoW has potential to last for several decades more but if they speedrun the story that potential will disappear.
BFA and shadowlands took 5 expansion concepts and condensed it into 2.
I would have much preferred BFA ->nazjatar expansion - >nya'lotha expansion- >wrath 2.0 ->shadowlands than what we got
