The shadowlands announcement was live at Blizzcon; I'd bet the April 19th reveal will just be a video on youtube; probably 2 videos, a cinematic trailer & a features trailer. Like the 9.2 preview.

It's an expansion not a patch, if it's not a live stream I'll be surprised.

I think it's gonna be more akin to the 8.3 reveal, Ion talking in front of a greenscreen while setting the expansion up.

    I mean, it's gonna be a pre-recorded livestream.

Truth be told, skin color for humans in WoW could be anything. Vrykul could have any type of features given that they are effectively robots that were cursed into flesh forms. So the ones who came to EK with Tyr could be all different colors.

Yes, they actually do love them. Mobile gaming revenue beats other combined platforms. And let's not fool ourselves that DI wont be successful, botched reveal or not.

Sometimes, the light of the moon is a key to other spaces. I've found a place where, for a night or two, the streets curve in unfamiliar ways. If I walk here, I might find insight, or I might be touched by madness.

And tbh, DI looks really really good in terms of gameplay.

Yes, general beta impressions were very positive, and game was reported to be actually light on microtransactions.

Tbf, the people who love PC games and the people who love mobile games are two different spheres that don't often overlap.

Not that I don't agree with you. Sadly D:I will easily make more money than DIV ever will.

Yeah, it really does and most of the beta impressions have been super good. I think a lot of people are going to be super surprised by it.

Any Warcraft mobile game can and should have the same amount of time and polish, and would likely be very well received.

At least if they do the announcement better lmao

This conversation is hurting my brain.

If they change the name of the Black dragonflight, that just shows that their internal thinking is (still) completely skewed. It was the same thing with the fruit paintings; replacing cleavage with fruit only showed us that Blizzard genuinely can't see someone's cleavage as anything except a cue/invitation to immediately sexually assault them. "And therefore such images must be purged from the game entirely so as not to entice us! Amirite, fellow devs?!"

All colors have symbolism, and black has been a symbol for mourning, darkness, witchcraft, mystery, the night, the unknown, death, evil, etc. since time immemorial. If you're incapable of associating the word "black" with anything other than black people, that's a you problem, not anyone else's.

If that somehow gives a nod at Night Warrior's powers, I'm all up for that.

Blizzard is great at being feigned progressive while being kinda tone deaf when it comes to representing genuine social nuance in their stories. In reality, the best way to have cultural competence and to have sensitivity is to be aware of differences and personal biases.

The Dragonflights having disparate cultures but finding union and common ground despite that is fine. It's a very real concern some chucklefuck would think it's a great idea to do some kind of misguided "we're all one race - THE HUMAN RACE" misunderstanding.

Dragonflight could just as easily mean nothing at all, though. It was a harmless jab.

    It's really nothing special.

Silvermoon and Tirisfal revamps have been on the stock wishlists for god knows how long now.

Not sure why sadly. Potential success of DI does not diminish potential success of D4. It only attracts players to other game. Mobile games at their core are not some evil force that fucks over other, "legit" games. It just they happen to be easily monetized by more or less shitty means.

Also if they changed it, it would be Obsidian.

That's the current state of affairs, but there's still no canon black character of any consequence who isn't a bandit or a dragon. I'm surprised that Twitter hasn't gone on a jihad over it or over the fact that all good stems a blue-eyed blonde man from a hereditary monarchy.

Obsidian Dragonflight sounds a lot cooler than the Black Dragonflight, honestly.

Please tell me I'm not alone in that.

You are not alone in that. Same goes for Azure Dragonflight tbh.

Thats still problematic, some Black People who in fact identifys them as Obsidian colored People would be insulted.

I have a Compromise can we change the Black Dragonfligt into The Grey Dragonflight?

I mean they changed a lot of NPCs in the overworld to use the black features. Walk around Stormwind sometime. They also changed some NPC's in Silvermoon to be black as well. Kul'Tiras has had black NPC's for awhile. None of these characters are evil or shady.

The leading character in Exile's reach for Alliance (something ALL new players go through IIRC) is black with a black son.

This is literally just people making up misinformation then creating a fake group of people to get outraged at their misinformation. Very very strange behavior lol.

Black representation in WoW is fine.

Obsidian and Azure sound way better, yes.

Didn't expect this to segue into weird and sensitive territory so fast, it's literally a jab at how misguided it would be to homogenize all dragons to be one thing because the fucked up metaphor speaks for itself.
