It's nuts that idiots both still believe there's two separate teams that alternate expansions, and also still don't understand that "Team 2" is the name of the entire World of Warcraft development team, as opposed to Team 1 (Starcraft and HotS), Team 3 (Diablo) and Team 4 (Overwatch).

Oh get outta here with this. MMO-Champ’s pessimism has out-lamed Legion and even BFA in the past. People laughed their asses off here at the Legion leak at the audacity it could actually deliver what it said.

Legion flew under the radar, though. It was such a brief blurb from a relatively nondescript post. The insane parts of how extensive it was, the Artifact weapons in their full understood concept, weren't elaborated on much.

Meanwhile, when confronted with a full plot overview of WoD, everyone insisted it could not possibly be true... because it sounded dumb. WoW's story, dumb! The absolute gall to imply such a thing. We get a full CGI image of Bolvar? Blue eyes, can't possibly be a thing. I know I've seen that hammer somewhere you guys!

They need another Legion if they’re going to get people back or keep bleeding until they’re at the never-ubsubs and no one else.

People forget fast. Malibu Stacy gets a new hat and people go for it.

BFA had pretty bad press and 8.3 was a poorly received patch. 9.0 shipped extremely feature lite with even less meat but still sold tons of copies and plenty of pre orders.

Was it really because people just couldn't wait to play a fucking Dark Iron Death Knight with their pre order? Or was it because the average consumer doesn't care, plays the box game, and lets their sub lapse?

This new leak is trash and won’t get anyone talking. Class skins are a functionally trash feature that adds nothing useful to the game. Where’s the fun gameplay feature to play with?

I think it's completely fake, but I don't think anything is guaranteed in regards to some grand redemption. People speculated the same of BFA to SL.

It's weird how the leak from an actually official source, the Dragonflight name, inadvertently killed a lot of the discussion.

Since most of the other leaks had names, the name alone basically debunked 99% of the other leaks, however, the name alone also doesn't really give us anything new to talk about. If the name we got was something wild like "The Mongrel Horde" it might have led to a ton of new speculation, but we've already exhausted the dragon guesses.

Yeah, name drops usually kill these threads, the only time I remember it didn't happen was before Mists of Pandaria was officialized, and many people refused to embrace the panda land dream.

its essentially high elves because of the worship of an eternal sun but the point of mentioning her was that we have high elves connected to dragons and there are a few references to the sun in illgynoth whispers and those link to future content

In addition to housing, with a lot of varied assets there, maybe some level of mount customization? Not all past ones, obviously, but maybe some ubiquitous versions (like horses or wolves) updated for it.

Could also just be an early iteration of adding some character to the cities.

You know what really would showcase Blizzard's ambition for the next expansion?

A class with 5 specs. Yes, 5. Each spec representing one of the major Dragonflights.

Oh, and the Dragon Isles as a floating continent in the sky.

Eh, I don't think we need 5 specs. 4 is perfect, and 3 is passable. If its 3 the dps spec better be ranged. WoW has never added a rdps spec in almost 20 years.

That leak continues to make a lot of sense from a moving parts POV, but god, the freakin' micro classes are so outlandish.

Like, I want it, it's a dope fucking leak, it would mean a huge hail Mary similar to Legion to make up for disappointment, but good lord it's hard to believe.

I feel like they would be classes that are expanded upon in future expansions where it makes sense. Sure tinker only gets 1 spec now, but if we ever go to undermine tinker would get 2 or 3 more specs and be more fleshed out.

I guess to be fair, my favorite part of Shadowlands was the new customization and the new leveling (I finally have alts!) and neither of those things have anything to do with "Shadowlands", so my favorite parts of "Dragonflight" may not have anything to do with the name either and make it sort of irrelevant.

I couldn't begin to guess. Wasn't something like this added to Orgrimmar as well? It seems meaningful, but also sort of inexplicable.

I really wouldn't mind this. I'll admit it's kinda selfish, but as much as I think Demon Hunter benefited from coming out in 2016 rather than 2007, the game is almost 18 years old. I would 1000% take a smaller version of something I've always wanted now, with the hope that it could maybe be expanded later, than wait another 9 years for the "right expansion".

This is why I disliked when I learned that Anduin was going to join Sylvanas in the Maw because this essentially leaves the precedent for her coming back to Azeroth with him sooner...

if there are 4 micro classes i cant say i wont be disappointed but i think dragonsworn is coming and maybe not 5 specs but you could easily do 3-4
bronze dragon tank is my hope because that brings in the possibility for a tank similar to brewmaster

Nope, just going to be talking about some datamining methods I utilitize that aren't generally known and allow for finding a bit more information than what is currently out there about these and other encrypted things (but nothing spoilery) in the hopes of Blizzard fixing these as we got into 10.0 (and hopefully making it harder to datamining spoilers in the future).

They're not that hard to believe. They've said several times that DH was hard to come up with even 2 specs for. If they want to give players more class fantasy (one of the absolute most in demand features) while not forcing a concept into something that doesn't work it makes a ton of sense.

Personally I think that Dragonflight leak is either THE leak weird sounding stuff and all or we wont get one past the name.

They need to move to 3 year expansions. It would solve literally all of the issues with them not having enough time to pump out a Legion sized expansion everytime.

So what, 5 tiers and 8 or 9 patches? 7 months in between raid tiers. 3.5 months in between patches. .5 patches have the raids again?

10.0- March 2023 (raid)
10.1- July 2023
10.1.5- October 2023 (raid)
10.2- Jan 2024
10.2.5- May 2024 (raid)
10.3- August 2024
10.3.5- Decmber 2024 (raid)
10.4- April 2025
10.4.5- July 2025 (raid)
11.0- March 2026.

Although, I still think 4 tiers and 2.5 years is best.

Cut .4 and .4.5 out and launch the expansion September 2025.

Tbh, i doubt the mini-classes because of how weird and out of nowhere the theme choices are.
Chronomancer healer is an ancient Mage Healer request from playerbase, right.
But Minstrel and Dragon Knight are the what?

Im not even talking about Tinker - the class with only DPS spec while there is an infinite potential for both Tank and Healer specs is THE dissapointment.

And all of that while ignoring the most popular things people wanted - Blademaster, Holy Paladin RDPS spec, Shadow Hunter, Shaman Tank, Warlock Healer Spec etc.
