I think it was a comment made by Nozdormu that he will always turn into Murozond at some point, it was his destiny basically.

Which is boring. Telegraphing such thing 6 expansions in advance and then following through and talking about it's "inevitability" is boring. Would appreciate if he somehow managed to change his destiny, in w/e way. This entire ancient Greece concept of how you can't fight your destiny is crap, and I am fairly sure we did overcome our fate few times already.

It works--it's a prime source of interpersonal drama, after all--but the writers have to decide how time travel works in their setting and actually stick to it.

Gotta be honest, was a pretty boring thread so far, compared to the ones from the last xpacs.
But then again, the last 2 years overall were somewhat...different (and for blizzard especially lol)

Anachronos helped the horde recruit the Mag'har, so he's not entirely forgotten.

Soridormi however, she might as well not exist.
Even her bit about keeping the Vials of Eternity went down the drain with Azerite popping up everywhere.

Murozond was already dealt with so him appearing now makes no sense.

Galakrond is the most likely imo, but I wonder if he's thematically a bit too closely tied to Death, given that we're just wrapping up an expansion with the same theme.

- Chromatus: I think it more like they don't what it to appear as that because it would look weird as fuck. The 5 head thing works on 2D but on 3D would look terrible, and animating that would be hell
- Murozond: we still have to see him for the first time.
- Galakrond: the problem is that he's death from thousand of years and he's like 20 times or so the size of Deathwing (he's so massive that he can't even fly)

That's a Hearthstone thing, which the mainline WoW devs try to keep a step separated from Hearthstone besides minor cameos (for better or for worse because they've had some fun ideas and given us some unique art that'd be sick in WoW like the female Dragonkin, ethereals and redone Wolvar)

That's a hearthstone mechanic, not anything actually established.

I thought that's how the got his necromantic powers though in WoW lore? He consumed enough of his dead kin and eventually gave him the power to raise the undead.

Yeah I have no idea how they'd manage to animate Chromatus. I am sure e.g. Megaera was not meant to look like some heads coming out of the mist but good luck finding a way to animate a lernean hydra.

Nozdormu turned Murozond because the Titans showed him his death which freaked him out, and then the Old Gods (probably N'zoth) manipulated him into turning. That Murozond then started fucking with the timeways.

Our Nozdormu will not turn because the main reason (i.e. the Old Gods) are dead, and the other Murozond we killed.


Honestly, the entire Nozdormu plotline is stupid as fuck, and I hope they do not explore it. It's just a minefield of terrible writing and cliches.

But the future that leads Nordormu to change the Timeline is the current path. When we kill him as Murozond, he'ss just trying to fix an alternate future in the Timeline, but we stopped him, so that future is going to happen.

Except the only reason Murozond was created to begin was to stop Thrall from reaching the Wyrmrest Temple.

He is the result of Old God manipulation, not some natural thing.

I still have to see how people reached to the conclusion that Old Gods created the Infinite. Why? Because Murozond tried to make the Hour of Twilight success?

- Stop the opening of the Dark Portal
- Stop Thrall from becoming the orcs leader and free them
- Kill Arthas before he went to Northrend
- They free Garrosh so he can invade Azeroth from past Draenor

That trick doesn't require the Old Gods to still be alive, though. They could have planted the seed of doubt in his mind to blossom years later. Besides, Xal'atath and their cultists still live.
