To me the problem is that they are reanswering questions that people were completely fine with. Arthas got a completely satisfying end in Wrath. An emotional farewell that is still quoted to this day. Did we really need to learn that he was controlled by zombie pickard through the helmet? And it was totally the helmet, not the sword. Which is why it is odd that Anduin got a new sword and not a new Helmet. And despite not being actually evil and just a victim of the Jailer's control his soul was still used to corrupt Anduin and......ugh. You get it.

This is why Pandaria worked so well? it didn't reanswer questions that already had satisfying conclusions.

fwiw, it's made clear in the Sylvanas book that Arthas was not under the Jailer's control (not for lack of trying)

And yes, the book shouldn't have so much stuff in it but it is what it is.

Hey hey hey, back earlier then expected .

So since I was right about dragon isles being 10.0 back during SL beta. I'm most likely right about 11.0.

Chances are that MU murozond and the infinite flight could be the ultimate antagonists of Dragonflight.

Why? Well because Yrel being stuck in AU draenor with no means of transportation here. She's being groomed to be a light aligned antagonist. She could also potentially push Turalyon over the edge, as the B plot of Dragonflight will most likely deal with him and Calia.

So yeah, Murozond will be the final boss, well defeat him and he'll then summon Yrel and the light bound as a last ditch effort against the void. Then boom, 11.0 is set up.

Think about it.

How else could Yrel possibly come to our timeline without the help of bronze/infinite dragons.

The horde needed the help of bronze dragons to even recruit the AU maghar during BFA. There's no way the light bound can do the same without similar assistance.

Now the next expansion is dragon related. We know nozzy has yet to become corrupted. We know the infinite are still active. I can't be the only one seeing this possible chain of events.

To be clear, franchise tie-in books have always been trash tier. But I actually did read and enjoy some of the earlier ones by Knaak. I tried to give Golden a chance, but by no fault of her own - that's when they started shoving content that should have been in-game into the novels.

in different edition yes, because they are different games all together, they don't retcon, afaik, things in the same edition.

Editions are not expansions.

They basically are though? This is genuinely just arguing semantics. It's all the same universe, and the universe has a canon, a canon which they retcon and edit to an even larger degree than warcraft writers do, because they don't just change how events played out or who is responsible for them (they also do this) they change the fundamental way that magic and forces act, what entire cultures are about, what sorts of things a given species of monster can do, history itself, etc.

Doubt it for the outland draenor fusion. My guess is that K'aresh will be the location for 11.0.

I don't want yrel to come back. I despise what they did with her specifically and the AU draenei in general. I'd prefer to leave some of the only good storyline memories from that expansion pack alone lol she was my favorite part of WoD and just ... Ugh.

It only seems logical, no? I mean why else would they have Yrel heel turn of they weren't planning on using her in the future.

Legion established the light has a sinister side for a reason. With the Maghar recruitment we know the light will try to unite the cosmos by force.

We already have the players set up.

Turalyon, Alleria, Locus Walker, the Scarlet Crusade, Yrel and the Light bound, AU Xera (the light mother), K'aresh, Dimensions.

We just need that lore mcguffin push to make it happen.

Hmm if only we had a dragon expansion where Nozdormu can finally lose his marbles and turn into MU Murozond and allow AU Yrel to pass to our Azeroth.
