I think Chronomancer or Chronoshifter would be the most likely if we go by the clue of it "sounding similar to a mage spell". The funny thing is, The First Awakened God leak mentioned Chronomancers as a new class lol. But so did two other leaks: A New Future and The Legacy of the First Ones.

I'm not saying any of them are correct, but there seems to be an interesting rise in leaks this year that propose Chronomancer as the new class. Compare this to the BlizzCon 2019 Leak Spreadsheet which had 89 leaks and not a single one of them mentioned Chronomancers. Why is this suddenly a fan favorite? Or could it be some of these leaks are actually dropping real clues amidst all the other BS they spout?

But the dragon theme is long standing for the next expansion, and one dragon flight is all about time stuff, so chronomancer is a valid choice. But this might not lead anywhere, as necromancer class leaks for SL lead nowhere.

Yeah, it was a big year for leaks. Everyone was looking forward to the expansion that was going to redeem BfA. "Only" 58 this year which is still a lot more than I expected to see for 10.0. And there would probably be more if the Dragonflight name and art had not leaked so early. Now people feel restricted to only making "Dragonflight" leaks, so they don't bother.

Because that is where they were intended to be, honey. Back during the development of vanilla Dragon isles were north of Lordaeron and west of quel'thalas. It was still on the map for a time. Also don't forget that Northern EK and Nothernd Kalimdor were a lot closer to each other before the sundering.

Because that is where they were intended to be, honey. Back during the development of vanilla Dragon isles were north of Lordaeron and west of quel'thalas. It was still on the map for a time. Also don't forget that Northern EK and Nothernd Kalimdor were a lot closer to each other before the sundering.

And Dire Maul was in Alterac back then. The early dev maps don't mean much.

I mean most Dragons seem to fight a lot in human form and only shift when they want to fight something their size. Kalec, Calen, Wrathion, Alex all do this in game.

But do I seriously think this means anything? Not really. I'm just here to contribute to the speculation and try to get in a few more wild theories before the actual announcement. I actually think Blizzard might have something against including any classes that end in -mancer.

But why get Draconids instead of actual dragons that can shift to human form for caster specs and to show off mog and use mounts but can also be their own mounts. THe hybrid dragon form that Hearthstone introduced for Wrathion is also such a great idea on how the race could work in melee. Make them chromatic and you could have them join all flights but not be members of them. GIve them a racial class that is Prismatic Dragon or something similar and they'd be able to use the abilities of all dragonflights and even fight in a hybrid form. And out of combat they could have cool drake forms like Wrathion does.

Of course my concept had them turn into full blown dragons in combat, but your idea that in combat their in hybrid form makes sense. We even see Wrathion do a bit of that in-game;

Yeah I guess you also loved the Mercenaries images for Wrathion eh?
Though I'd want all flights represented. And yeah, get them in melee only as tanks so we don't get ANOTHER melee dps. My idea was that they'd have access to dragonflight colors as stances and each spec would have 3-4 options. Base abilities would be nearly the same with minor changes (spell school, utility) but each spec would have a couple of cooldowns that change depending on your stance.

That is probably to make the fights easier to design. But I still expect a humanoid dragon to be far stronger than a human. Granted worgen are also far stronger in lore. Ehh I just don't see the appeal of being a dragon or being empowered by a dragon, if I can't be obnoxiously powerful. Let's be real: being a dragon is a power fantasy. You want to be a vampire cause you want a castle with a library the size of Blizzard HQ. You want to be a werewolf cause you love nature and hate water bills. You play a cat person cause you are a weeb like me. You play dragons because they are the apex predator. That's the reason right there.

I think they’d base it on HotS with only Black, Red, and Bronze. Not using Green and Blue makes sense because those are too close to mages and Druids. Alexstraza HotS would be the mechanical cornerstone of the concept, which backs up her appearance on the cover.

You see, this is a wow forum, everything end up revolving around elves someway somehow.

Of course not, but we didn't actually know that the next expansion was going to be Shadowlands, although almost everyone had convinced themselves that it would somehow revolve around death (just like how we're going all-in on dragons this year). Still, the leak season for BlizzCon 2019 had no shortage of leaks proposing Tinkers and Dragonsworn and there were plenty of leaks that went against the grain by proposing core themes such as Void, Titans, Time Travel, Old Gods, and yes, Dragons.



Relax, friend, no one's attacking you here. This is a speculation thread. Also if the new class turns out to be Chronomancer, all three of the "random leaks" I mentioned would have at least one shred of reality in them.

I’m very relaxed, actually in bed rn? And whose attacking who? And yea you’re conflating lucky guesses thru buzzwords with hard cold facts based on reality.

And you basically answered yourself. About 85% of the leaks in 2019 was about the SL, we knew we would be facing death next after sylvannas team rocketed away at the end of 8.2.5 lol. This time around I would say it’s a similar amount of leaks being focus on dragons, but you still have the light and loredaron etc. mind you, even in 2019 before SL some ppl began to bring up dragons. Speculate on whatever you please, best of luck in the future. Take care, brush ya hair

There are some differences in style between druids and greens, at least in game. Greens use poison and plant magic a lot more, don't focus on animal forms (but by lore should be great at summoning animals) and definitely wouldn't feel like balance. SO you could give them a poison themed breath

Blues are indeed Arcane/Frost mages. They are the hardest flight to differentiate.
