Ok, so you're boxed into playing your "High Elf" as a void-corrupted Elf. So a Void Elf. Blood Elves are better High Elves right now. No idea why people bring up Void Elves as an example of High Elves, when Blood Elves are visually and racially closer to High Elves. And they have Silvermoon and Quel'Thalas.

There's a difference between a curious High elf practising the Void and an actual Void elf, as in an elf who was permanently and irreversibly twisted by the Void.

It's the same distinction between a curious Blood elf practising the Fel and a Felblood elf.

In other words, one of the reasons why "Void elves" are the perfect race and the best race is because their background allows you to roleplay your PC in whatever way you want. The Void elves race is literally perfect.

If you're having problems properly RPing your character, you might simply lack imagination, but that's alright, RP is not for everyone. The Void elves race as presented in-game already offers you all tools needed to RP as a biological High elf.

Mage already has two of the most interesting time-based abilities my unimaginative brains can think of. Healing would be the most unique option (reversing time to heal wounds) I suppose, but I still want dragons.

I'm with you; I absolutely am; I think the best way to have that cake and eat it to is *with* dragons.

That's how I imagine it working; a healing spec that has some hefty time focus, but also utilizes other dragonflights where appropriate

Portals and Blink/shimmer are telemancy, not chronomancy.
Chrono Shift and Time Anomaly are mere passives.

The rest can be altered in name, or just stay as they are pure pink/purple arcane spells and a bronze dragon chronomancer class/spec is gonna have a heavy sand theme.

What about the leader of the Titan Pantheon, Aman'thul? Arcane and Time have heavy overlap beyond just ability names.

That's like saying you can roleplay your Worgen as not corrupted by the Worgen curse.

Besides, it's not even about roleplaying for me. I don't care about roleplaying.

It's about playing a High Elf, with High Elf racials, High Elf mount, High Elf heritage armor and High Elf visuals on the Alliance side. Void Elves do not make that possible and never will.

Plenty of people roleplay their Worgen character as an uncorrupted Gilnean, literally take a look at the Stormwind Cathedral square on AD once in a while.

I just said I don't give a shit about roleplaying.

But if I did, that immersion would break every time I enter combat and my skin turns purple.

And don't give me any shit about "roleplaying as High Elf curious about the void".

If I was a roleplayer, I wouldn't like the fact that that would be the only way to roleplay an Alliance High Elf, because that is the antithesis of what a High Elf is supposed to be. Blood Elves would be better High Elves.

Blizzard creates more balancing issues with their borrowed power systems. A class on its own is obviously going to make things harder, but it's not like it hasn't already been an absolute disaster with all the systems on top of systems and the hundreds of variables they have to account for with each Soulbind and Covenant combination etc. etc.

The classes are more balanced right now than they've ever been. Get this argument outta here. Every spec is viable at some level of high end play.

And Demon Hunters are a much less rich idea pool than dragons or t words.

People constantly complain about balance issues, recently more than ever before.

That is a terrible rating for a great movie. No joke, Reign of Fire is fantastic. It's literally the only movie I can think of that got Dragons right from a non-fantasy D&D standpoint.

That, and even if they were so imbalanced it was unplayable, it's still time for something actually new to play. It's been 7 years.
