I've got my shit set to preorder the Heroic version of whatever on Tuesday and if it ends up being Spyro 4 so be it.

I have the theory the Blizzard expansion cycle is: 1. focus on character/enemy/organization, 2. big event in the known world (known world of RTS games), and 3. visit a new place (Pandaria, Shadowlands). But this theory isn't perfect if the next expansion is because of WoD and Dragonflight expansion titles.

They can take themes/loosely base classes off a hero, doesn’t mean they need to have a 1:1 comparison with us being full on dragons.


Kind of like how DHs aren’t full on demons like Illidan.

Or DKs aren’t the actual Lich King or a corrupted Paladin, but instead just hero’s risen from the dead.

While we're not 1:1 with Illidan, we do possess his abilities from RTS and MOBA, and we are standard members of his unique class.

Apply that to Alexstraza, and that makes us dragons, because dragons are the only ones in lore who possess her abilities from the MOBA. Definitely not of her power level, but definitely standard members of her unique class.

But Chromie in the same MOBA shows that you don’t need to actually transform into an actual dragon.
In fact chromie never actually turns into a dragon but just shoots around dragon themed spells.

Plus turning into an actual dragon surely wouldn’t make the Druid players happy.

I don't know if you've figured this out already, but the person you're responding to accurately stated that 7.0 would be called Legion, bring back Illidan, and introduce the DH class about a week before it happened.

I'm not sure I buy Evoker as a full class, but I can see it as a specialization of something bigger - like a time-oriented specialization of a Dragon-oriented class, even if "Evoking" doesn't even imply that in the first place.

But it could all just be nonsense to begin with.

Also I doubt Druids would care, since they don't turn into dragons, they turn into beasts, and the general mechanics of the dragon shapeshift are different.

If a dragon class does come, I could see the following specs if we got four specs for it:
Red: Melee Dps/healing hybrid (Like disc but with melee instead of casting, so also kinda like holy pala?)
Blue: Slow but powerful caster
Green: Healer Caster
Black: Tank

We don’t know who the poster child of the next xpac is going to be. The ‘leaked’ art could very well be fake.
Remember the 8.3 stormwind leak that everyone thought was real? Straight up had cinematic quality screenshots and models for the ships.

Sure the mechanics of Alexstraza could be carried over with obvious changes.
Pop a CD that enhances your abilities. Turn into an actual dragon? Never gonna happen in combat.
Flight form with similar lore to Tarecgosa’s rest? Maybe. But again you’ll anger the Druid players again.

Plus it makes no sense for a dragon to be running around and fighting in mortal form 90% of the time and defeats the entire purpose of playing a dragon.
It would be like playing a Worgen but being stuck in human form all the time, except when popping a racial CD.

Druids would 100% care.
They cared when Zen Flight was added for Monks to the point that blizz had to nerf it so it was slow. And monks didn’t even transform with zen flight.

You're really just confusing yourself there. Back then, they didn't make a difference between the Veil and the Shadowlands. The concept of the place as the afterlife was already set.

And while i'm not sure if they'd oppose each other, we have no reason to believe they'd ally, either. For that matter, it could just as easily end up being Light that attacks with Life and Void teaming up against it.

You're trying really hard to say 'since there was an idea of an afterlife, Shadowlands was really there since the beginning of the universe'.

Evoker doesn't make any sense to me. They already have lore names for dragon or time-related classes. If they didn't rename Demon Hunters to avoid having two classes with the word Hunter in the name then they have no reason to rename Dragonsworn or Chronomancer/Timewalker.

Assuming this Evoker/Invoker class is the real deal, cosidering there are only three aspects left couldn't it be:

Red - fire based healer
Blue - melee arcane dps
Bronze - evasion, absorbs tank

I saw like 3 system designers from WoW team hyping tweet reveal, so I guess we can expect some new system-type-thing in new expansion. But i guess that's expected either way. I hope they improve and iterate over group finder feature more.

Yeah, but this is an entirely different situation. Art like that just doesn't stay hidden on the web. If someone drew Alexstraza on that level, it would be on an art gallery site like Artstation or Deviantart, and the artist would be proudly displaying their art on Instagram or Twitter. Further, the work looks very close to one of WoW's main artists Bayard Wu. Wu wouldn't be hiding an Alexstraza piece if it wasn't behind an NDA. Something like that would be on his Artstation or Twitter page, especially if it was a part of a leak that he's not actually a part of. In addition, the work came out before the website leak, and the logo in the picture matches the all but confirmed name for the next expansion.

So yeah, that image is legit. There's simply too many variables in favor of it.

Except there's zero reason to change the mechanics, or disallow someone from turning into a dragon in combat. The concept of it is supported by lore, and it's a unique and cool concept that would set a new class apart from existing WoW classes. It would make zero sense to base a class on Alexstraza and not allow the player to turn into a dragon.

Plus it makes no sense for a dragon to be running around and fighting in mortal form 90% of the time and defeats the entire purpose of playing a dragon.
It would be like playing a Worgen but being stuck in human form all the time, except when popping a racial CD.

Except Alexstraza is in mortal form far less than 90% of the time, and no one said anything about a CD. If anything it would more than likely operate like 6.2 Demonology.

Why are you making up stuff up?? Zen Flight was nerfed because people were exploiting the heck out of it. It had nothing to do with angry druid players.
