Am I weird, that the biggest part I like about the idea about a dragons-on-azeroth-expansion is that the xpac will be on azeroth?
I hope we get some sweet lordaeron development. And kaldorei, but please this time with teeth. And ofc some dragon stuff I guess? /shrug

I think the reworking of the skeleton would be the most difficult. It's not like Blizzard has an aversion to clipping and I think the two handed fighting would be the most difficult. EQ had them appear floating slightly above the ground and had them still interact as if they would ground bound, which could easily translate to WoW. Their wings also just popped out of the cloaks.

Hmm... yeah, something like that could be possible. We never thought Blizzard would make a race that had invisible gear, but they did so with Mechagnomes, so anything is possible at this point.

I'd just race change my main (warrior). In fact, I'd race change every character of mine.

Yeah! They have a deep well to draw on without adding entirely new races to the mix.

Most (not all) races added to wow have either always been there, or are derivatives of existing races. Though some are kind of left field (no one had any idea nightborne or highmountain could ever be a thing until they showed up, for example)

Vulpera maybe the most 'this race just showed up now you can play them' race? Did anything like them ever exist in lore before BFA?

The War of the Ancients trilogy mentioned a small, humanoid fox Wild God. But that's about it.

Removing the dragon form kind of defeats the entire purpose of the concept.

What made Alexstraza great in HotS? The fact that she could turn into a mutha$#%ing dragon.

Ok but only being in dragon form like 5% of the time in content, if that, doesn't defeat the purpose of a dragon concept?

Chromie doesn't have a dragon form and she's just fine. You use her as an example a lot and she never turns into a dragon. Not even as a mount. She just uses dragon themed spells. It would be likely that a dragonsworn class would do the same to help them stand out.

Do the same with alexstraza. Change around the dragonqueen CD to not have you turn into a big dragon and it's the same thing.
In WoW, it'd be better mechanically to not have a dragon form in combat anyways.

By the way, kudos to the mods here for removing the troll so quickly. His posts disappear always like a minute or two after I report them.

At this point some kind of IP ban might be worth considering though. He's been impersonating multiple users and posting weird politically charged racist shit since yesterday I think.

You ban one of his accounts and he crawls back like a cockroach on a new one.

Blizzard did want to add a "shapeshifting demon race" to wow back before Vanilla but were cut... they only didn't do it because it would've been too expensive...
But with all the new tech nowadays with races.... (same rigs just different animations for the races, worgen and druids being able to customize their forms separately)

Except the TTRPG Dragonsworn are essentially covenants, where established classes pick up random dragon abilities. A prime example is Ysera's Tears in the Druid class, or Alexstraza's Fury in the Mage class. They're not a unique or stand alone class. Even the ones that appeared in WoW were Paladins, Warriors, Mages, etc. who worked for the Bronze Dragonflight. Again, no unique abilities or powers. Just your typical classes in service of the flights.



Oh? Can you name a hero character that is a Dragonsworn? You know, a character that actually has a fan base, and has people drawing fan art?

Also the whole covenant comparison got old months ago dude because that covers the entire monk class because of the celestials

How scaled down would the dragon have to be in order to be able to work in some mechanics and environments

but to elaborate abit.. think of how big the dragon would have to be.. even a smallish dragon.. ok got that imagined? now imagine avoiding mechanics with 2-3 people transformed into a dragon standing on top of you.. its not feasible

Yeah, I think its a combo of mods doing a great job (kudos to them as you said) and the regulars here being annoyed by it and reporting as soon as we see it!

On another topic I leave for a 1.5h evening walk and come back to like 5+ new pages xD I love this thread in the EU evening hours.

People that disagree could even test this out in game right now, use the reflecting prism on someone using vial of sands or the tarecgosa mount and try to run actual content.

They didn't start by impersonating me specifically, but I think they came back for round two after I called them out on the fact that they clearly don't know how to save avatars with transparent backgrounds because earlier my avatar had a white background.

This time they managed to color the avatar's background so it matches the site... which is a bit better, but still not ideal lmao.
